"Alice, are you okay?" The voice was filled with uncertainty and concern. When I opened my eyes I saw Ray I hugged him as hard as I possibly could. Suddenly I realized that my feelings leaked.

"Sorry I am fine. Why do you ask?" I stopped hugging him and distanced myself from him.

"You're crying, is something wrong?" I put my hand up to get rid of the tears.

"Nothing is wrong just a little bad dream is all." He looked directly into my eyes, nothing in the world existed for a moment everything stopped moving. Then he broke our eye contact something was wrong with him. "Are you okay?"

"It's nothing." He shrugged it off, but I wasn't going to give up that easily.

"Tell me, come on I won't hurt you." My mind keeps slipping to that dream usually I can keep my distance from Ray, trying to keep a low profile but that was not the case today.

"We need to hurry up, darling or we will be late. I would hate to make Mr. M wait." He held out his hand, I still grabbed his hand with a slight hesitation. A peculiar look showed on his face but he moved on.

"Okay honey." He looked shocked, maybe I caught him off guard.

"You're too good at that." We both laughed as we ran directly to the principal's office. When we arrived Mr. M was there arms crossed.

"There are the couple. Try to be really romantic and whatever else you want to add. I really don't care, you guys can practice your acting since your thirty minutes early."

"I don't need to act. I'll just treat her like I would if she was my girlfriend." Ray smiled at Mr. M. Making him let out a long sigh.

"Try to keep it appropriate at least in front of me." I would never do something like that what on earth is wrong with Mr. M his thoughts on high scholars are too tainted.

"I wouldn't do something like that so don't worry about it. Jeez Ray isn't like that either."

"Or is he." Mr. M started coughing and Ray turned away, walking out hand-in-hand with me. We both, without a word, knew that we were going to the roof. When we finally reached the top he sat on the bench we were on earlier.

"You're not like that, are you?"

"I wouldn't want to do anything that you would not want."

"I knew it Mr. M was wrong."

"So you believed him?" Our eyes met and the atmosphere changed drastically.

"No I was just wondering." I looked up at the stars breaking the serious mood.

"Wondering can be dangerous." He mumbled under his breath.

"So what exactly are we supposed to do? Being romantic and pretending to be dating is not really something I do every day."

"So you don't pretend to be romantic?"

"Jeez listen more carefully, you know what I mean anyways." I really hope that is not my heart racing.

"We could probably just sit really close to each other that should be enough to convince anyone." He put his arm around me on the chair pulling my right next to him. Ray smelt like a cooling winter breeze, so refreshing but sitting this close was a little embarrassing. I moved to the end of the bench escaping Ray's arms.

"Is there something less embarrassing than that? Staying that close to you is a little weird."

"That is literally the most convincing least interactive thing I could come up with."

Thirty minutes flew by, Ray and I began our way down the stairs he grabbed my hand tightly like I was going to run away or something. My heart raced just by holding me holding his hand. Usually I never felt nervous from something like this, we are just friends I reminded myself.

"Just friends." I kept mumbling to myself. Ray adverted his eyes from me and towards the door. Mr. M was having a conversation with someone. We lightly knocked and they opened it almost instantly.
