Chapter 19

Time just showed how one thing could change everything.

"Is this why you evade your feelings all the time?"

"We can't be together, you heard it from my brother. I'm a..." I couldn't finish it so many answers could fit. I was a monster but at the same time a human. I pushed myself and chocked out, "I'm a monster."

"Is your family really full of vampires, werewolves, and witches?"

"Yes." I never have been so ashamed just hearing him say that proved I wasn't dreaming this was real more real than I thought possible.

"You're not a vampire. I don't believe it."

"It is true," I showed my teeth proving there was no fangs. Ray looked and still didn't believe it.

"Why did you hide it from me?"

"Mr. M said it would be best if no one knew. Then my werewolf brother ruined everything. I am still on the chopping block for what creature I will be when I grow up." His hand tucked my hair behind my ear. "Remember when I was going to get killed by you?"

"Yeah."

"Mr. M said that if you knew you'd snap my neck in half and I would be dead in a split second." His hand slid up to my chin tilting my head to him making our eyes meet.

"I could never kill you." He pushed his face next to mine. We were almost kissing, I thought I was dead for sure. A vampire loving a human was unheard of because humans were prey to vampires. "This kind of explains a lot and makes me feel a lot better in a way." We separated to talk some more. I backed up a little pushing space between me and Ray.

"How is this a good thing? Come on think about it, I'm a human. Vampires and humans hate each other and never can be together. You are the predator humans like me are the prey."

"Well your blood is really delicious it takes so much energy resisting your blood. Now I know why which makes a lot more sense." He put his arm around me. We laughed, I never thought this was possible.

"Still it is weird."

"What is?" He let out a little chuckle.

"The person I like feels the same way about me even though we can't be together."

"Who is going to stop us?"

"My family wouldn't let me unless I turned."

"I'm okay with that, if that werewolf jerk can offer being a werewolf to you I can offer being a vampire to you." His head leaned against mine we were so close but I didn't mind we were just talking and relaxing.

"Everyone wants me to be a werewolf, vampire, and witch. But I'm a human." His eyes went down my neck.

"I can change that." I grabbed his hand, his eyes went from my neck to meet my eyes again. We just stared at each other for a few seconds.

"I don't want to turn right now I like being mortal."

"Right now, so I can later?" A wicked smile with a little fang.

"Keep your fangs out of your smile." I teased him like best friends would all the time.

"No response, so is that a yes?" His glance had a hint of seriousness behind the comedy in his question.

"No." I let out a sigh and looked down. But when I did my eyes only could look down for a little bit. Ray put the front of his face right on my neck I went to fly back but he was position so if I didn't that I would pierce myself with his fangs. "Can I move back?"

"You can." He said sarcastically, I wanted to move back just to prove to him I wasn't scared. After a few seconds I gave up and moved slightly back I felt his fang cross my skin.

"You are really testing my patience."

"I don't mind either way. If you sit there I get to be close to you if you sit up I get to drink some of your blood."
