"Come on Terrell you have one more question left," I said handing him his pencil.

He blew air out his mouth and started complaining. "I'm tired." He said shaking his head.

"Why are you so sleepy? It's only 4 o'clock." I tell him.

He yawned and shrugged his shoulders. Ignoring my question, he picked up his pencil and filled in a random answer to his last question. I grabbed the paper and glared at him.

"Terrell, you know that's not the right answer," I said looking over his science homework.

"Okay, then what is?" He asked tapping his pencil.

"Figure it out. I'm going to check on Bella. When I get back I want the right answer on the paper." I said getting up.

He sighed and looked down at his homework. As soon as I got up Bella started crying from her tummy time mat. The new goal is for her to try and start crawling. But first, we gotta get her some leg strength.

"How's my big girl doing? You ready to get up?" I ask gaining a whining voice from her.

I picked her up and held her in my arms. She laid her head on my shoulder and her breathing slowed down. Her tiny legs were so hot I started to get a little worried.

"Hey Terrell, bring me my thermometer please," I said walking to meet him halfway.

He got up from the dining room table and went to the kitchen. He brought me the non-contact thermometer and handed it to me.

"Is she okay?" He asked squinting.

"Yeah, I think so," I said taking her temperature. "She might have a little fever. Yeah, she does, 101.5." I said shaking my head.

Terrell walked away and went to the bathroom, later coming out with the bottle of infant Tylenol.

"Thank you, honey," I said putting Bella in her high chair.

knock. knock. knock.

"See who it is before you open it," I tell Terrell as he walks off.

"Yes ma'am.." He responded.

I pulled out my phone and contemplated texting Devale about Bella's fever. Before I could come to a decision my phone started ringing, with Novi's name on the screen. I quickly answer it.

"Hey is everything okay?" I ask her.

"No not all, we're under quarantine." She said making me nervous.

"For what?" I ask her.

"200 patients in your hospital have COVID. It started from a group of college students, traveling abroad." She said, for some reason, I could hear the busyness in her voice.
