"And what color is this?"

"Yellow!" DJ responded pointing to his flashcard.

"That's good, really good." I said clapping my hands.

I've had a lot of time on my hands. I stepped down from my position as CEO and now I am just a normal life saving doctor. Honestly, this is the best thing I've done in a while. I have time to focus on being a wife and a mother, those come before anything in my life.

"Mommy I wanna go play now." DJ said kicking his legs.

"Okay a few more flash cards and then you can go play." I tell him.

He sat up and started organizing the number cards, 1-10. I was staring at him becoming a prouder mother by the second.

"Hey Crystal where do you want this dress?" My mom asked walking in from the dining room.

"Oh you can put it in the bag it came in. I'm gonna try it on." I said smiling softly.

"Vow renewals are so special. They're like mini weddings." She said completely swooned.

"Devale and I never had a wedding. We didn't get that happy moment." I said standing up. "But every moment together now, is a happy moment." I said smiling.

The vow renewal was Devale's idea. He wanted to show me how much restarting our life together meant to him. I had some trouble believing it but when he proposed to me again, way bigger, more love involved, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We made those vows before but this time it means that I'm going to put in the work to make sure we last.

"I'm just happy that you guys are doing better. Where is he?" My mom asked referring to Devale.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, "He went go-kart racing with Terrell." I said making her chuckle.

"Those two have a new adventure everyday. He comes in from a graveyard shift and wakes up to be Superman. He goes running with you, he takes them to school, and then squeezes in time for go-karting." My mom said making me laugh lowly.

She isn't lying. Devale's days are nonstop. Sometimes I try to get him to slowdown and take some time to sleep but he's just scared to miss moments with the kids. He saw a video of Bella crawling finally and he felt so guilty.

"All done mommy." DJ said as the front door opened.

"Let me see." I said leaning down. "Almost, 8 goes before 9." I correct him as I move hte cards.

"Okay I knew that." He slapped his little hand against his forehead making me laugh.

I rubbed his curly head. "It's okay baby go play." I said as he dashed up.
