Devale and I sat across the dinner table at BLVD Steakhouse, tapping our feet and fidgeting with our hands. It's been months since we've had a date night. This was his idea and I found it to be a nice way of showing me how sorry he is. Even though we're both tired from work, we still showed up.

I miss being in the honeymoon phase of my marriage. It didn't last long, we always have something going on. Devale and I can never just be on a steady pace with each other. We're always in each others way now. I made wedding vows to him because I love him and as tired as I am with everything I am still going to keep loving him and get us back on the right track.

"You look so beautiful tonight." Devale finally said after minutes of silence.

"Thanks..." I softly responded.

I grabbed my glass of water and took a sip. Wine sure sounded good but due to the condition I'm in, I can't drink. Which makes me sad because it would really calm my nerves right now.

"I'm so tired." Devale said yawning softly.

"Mm. How was work?"

"Exhausting. I thought I was gonna have to pull a double but everything was good." He said as his phone buzzed in his pocket.

He turned it off and looked back at me.

"It's not important." He said. "How do you feel?"

"I was a little sick this morning but it went away..."

"Look Crystal I can't do this," Devale said putting his hands on the table. "Have we been mad at each other for so long we forgot how to talk to each other when we're happy and going on a date?" He asked me.

I smile and move my hair behind my ear.

"I am just a little sleepy."

"You wanna go home?" Devale asked me.

I shook my head. "No I wanna be with you."

"In life or just tonight?" Devale asked making laugh softly.

"In life and tonight." I assure him. "I love you."

"I love you too." Devale said looking at me.

His eyes left mines and they started lingering around the restaurant.

"Shit." He said making me turn my head.

"Wha- oh." I said as my eye landed on the double date I never saw coming.

Morris, Rachel, Zena, and Durrell. It was a weird combination of people. I turned around before they could spot us and looked at my husbands overwhelmed face.

"Are you okay?" I ask.

"Yeah. It's just weird," Devale said.

I nod my head. "Yeah very." I said reaching for DeVale's wine.
