Oh God, poor Jiwon. She’s gone through so much... that bitch Sumin.

I grit my teeth in anger, unable to comprehend how someone could be so cruel to Jiwon.

With a frustrated sigh, I close my laptop. Another week until the next episode of Marry My Husband—the wait is always torture. I love K-dramas; I’m totally obsessed.

But right now, I find myself lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind spinning with thoughts.

At least, thank God, my love life isn’t as complicated as these dramas.

I’m in a long-distance relationship with my college boyfriend, Vikram. I love him, and he loves me just as much. He’s nothing like the cheaters I see on screen.

And then there’s Alia, my best friend—my soulmate alongside Vikram.

Their bond is like that of siblings, even though they aren't related by blood. They’re both far away from me, and my parents never really approved of Vikram, probably because of how consumed he is by his work.

But still, I wonder... if I could go back in time and change everything, what would I do differently?

"Ruhi, dinner is ready!"

My brother’s voice yanks me out of my thoughts. That brat never calls me ‘didi’ (sister). With a sigh, I yell back,

"Coming!"

I quickly wash my face and head to the dining table.

"Ruhi beta, come sit with me,"

my grandpa says, patting the chair beside him. I smile, taking my seat next to him.

"Oh look who’s here! Ruhi, you really need to learn how to cook, beta,"

my mom chimes in as she brings food bowls to the table from the kitchen.

"Mom, please! I don’t want to die young," my brother Varun quips with a grin. I shoot him a glare, my fist ready to land on his arm.

"Shut up! I know how to cook," I retort, my tone half-playful, half-serious.

"Yeah, only that Korean food," he teases, laughing. My mom and grandpa shake their heads, accustomed to our daily banter.
