"J-j-jungkook..", You gasped.
He shifted his gaze up to you. You saw his eyes widened, his expressions turning tensed. You could tell by the look on his face that he was as much shocked as you were.
"Elsie.." , Jungkook uttered.
Never ever you both would've thought to meet each other this way.
"Jungkook, hold the baby tightly!"
The women shouted as she noticed Jungkook's grip over the baby loosened.
"Oh! Sorry Nara.", Jungkook said as he tightened his grip over the baby. You figured, his eyes avoiding to meet yours.
"How are you feeling, Mrs. Jeon?", You asked with a heavy heart.
Nara smiled.
"I'm feeling better now. The nurse told me it was a critical case but you handled it amazingly. Thank you so much doctor."
"Make sure to take care of yourself during the postpartum period.", you said.
"Yes doctor, thank you.", Nara smiled.
You nodded and then walked out of the ward but you halted your steps when he blocked your way.Your felt like your heart sank. Tears started to fill your eyes. After so many years of missing him, you met him but now he already has a family of his own. That's when you thought that maybe you were always a mere student to Jungkook. And this surely broke your heart into pieces. Despite all these emotions you continued to move ahead until a voice stopped you again.
"Thank you, Elsie."
You turned your head back slightly and your eyes met Jungkook's . His face showed nothing but regret and you knew what was the reason behind his regret. You pressed your lips lightly.
"I am very happy for you, Elsie—now that you're finally a doctor.", Jungkook forced a weak smile.
"I am happy for you too, Jungkook- now that you finally have a family.", You said trying your best to not shed any tears.
You saw Jungkook raise his both eyebrows together in confusion. He simply nodded and went back to the ward leaving you in the gallery-alone.
Maybe this was the end for you both. You thought and a tear escaped your one eye.
