Trevor's POV

I stop walking, and I look at the tree that's in front of me for a while, then I decide to look over my shoulder to see who followed us here, although I already know who that is.

"Shift." Denver tells us, but neither of us does that, so he repeats his command with his Alpha voice, which makes us shift unwillingly.

If I have known that it will be as painful as it is, then I would have shifted right away.

But now I have to suffer though the forced shits, same as my mate, who's whining loudly.

"Where are you going?" Denver asks us when we're back in our human forms.

I don't answer him, but I open my bag, before I take my shorts out of it, and I put them on.

I can see that Oden is doing the same, while Denver still waits for our answer.

"Where do you think we're going?" I ask him angrily. "I had to at least try to take my mate away from you and the pack.

Because you're about to make him go through a punishment that he doesn't deserve." I tell him harshly.

"I showed you the evidence that he did that, so he does deserve the punishment that he will get.

He also deserves more, he should be dead by now for what he did, but I don't want to kill you, so I will have to let him live.

But it will be a very restricted life for him, as well as for you, because you're spending most of your time with him." Denver tells me.

"Well, all that you showed me is some pictures that showed someone who looks like my mate.

I was with him the whole time when the last kids were killed, so if you want me to believe that he actually did that then you will have to show me the evidence.

Also, you will have to prove that he can use magic or something, because I really don't believe that he did that.

And if you will manage to convince me that he killed all of those kids, then I will make sure to kill him myself, if that's what you want." I say angrily.

I can see that Oden's eyes widen slightly after hearing my last sentence.

So, I smile at him to assure him that I know that he didn't do anything, and that I won't let anyone convince me otherwise.

Denver looks at me for a moment, and then he groans loudly, which almost makes me chuckle.

I have not seen this side of Denver for a long time.

He seem to realise what he just did, and he chuckles, before be looks at me again, this time with a serious expression.

I have no idea how he can move from being amused to being serious this quickly, but it definitely impressed me.

"Well, I would like to believe you, but I can't in this situation. If you weren't my family, then I would have used my Alpha voice to see if you're telling the truth,

But your my nephew, so I'm not sure how much it will work on you, and there's a very big chance that you will be able to lie to save your mate." Denver says.
