Trevor's POV

I was wrong when I assumed that Carter will be able to help me, because he didn't manage to convince Denver to let me see my mate, although I'm not sure if he actually tried.

I haven't seen Oden for the last two days, although now I'm walking towards the pack house.

Because Denver said that I will be able to see Oden for a while, before Oden will have a voting, and we will finally know what to expect.

When I reach the pack house, I try to find Denver, but I manage to find Carter first, and I decide that he will be good enough.

"Hey." I say and he turns to look at me, before he greets me back.

"Can you tell the guards to let me see my mate?" I ask him, and he nods, so I follow him toward the cellars.

He doesn't even have to say anything, before the guards step aside to let us walk though the door.

I expect him to go away, but he comes inside with me, hopefully to tell the other guards to leave the room, so I can talk with my mate alone.

I quickly walk in the direction that Oden's smell comes from, but I frown when I see that he's laying on the stone floor, and he looks like he's in pain.

"Are you alright?" I ask him, and he shakes his head, before he tries to sit up, but I can see that he's in a lot of pain.

"Carter, come here!" I say loudly, and a moment later, Carter comes here to see what I want from him.

"What happened to him?" He asked the guards angrily. "I think that I gave you clear orders, and from what I remember, I haven't said anything about beating him." Carter tells them.

I look around the guards, to see if someone will apologise, but they look unimpressed.

"He deserved that, and he was being annoying, so we had to make him quiet." One of the guards says when Carter unlocks the cellars, to let us walk inside.

"Go get the doctor and whoever hit him should get out of here, because they won't be a guards from now on." Carter says and the guards looks at each other, before one of them say that he will get a doctor.

"Who hit him?" Carter asks the remaining guards  but neither of them says anything, so he looks at Oden.

I push past him, and I go toward Oden, so I can sit next to him.

"Who hit you?" I ask him, and he looks at one of the guards who's on the other side of the room.

"He?" I ask  and I gesture to the guards that he was looking at.

He nods slightly, and Carter glares at the guard, before he points his finger at the door that leads out of the cellars.

The guard hits one of the cellars with his fist, and then he angrily starts to walk out of the cellars.

"One more thing like this, and you won't only lose the position as a guard, but I will make sure that you will be kicked out of this pack.

And I'm sure that the Alpha will hear about this." Carter tells him, but the man doesn't even look at him.
