You didn't really know how to break the news to him.

He had proposed again, only a few weeks ago, so your mind had been so focused on your wedding vow renewals that you hadn't had the opportunity to notice any of the earlier signs.

Now, you had no clue how you were going to break the news to him. You had just fallen back into a comfortable rhythm again, with him and Kiyo. You had cast aside your worries about every external force that had something to say about your relationship, because Satoru insisted that he would bear those worries, instead of you this time. (you smiled to yourself, just at the thought of that).

Still smiling to yourself, you threw away the test and washed your hands. Yes, a baby wasn't exactly in your plans for yourself right now, but Kiyo was going to start kindergarten, so you would have more time on your hands. As you stepped out of the bathroom, you were more sure than ever. It would all work out just fine --

"Hey, honey," Satoru had a bright, but clearly nervous smile on his face. He had been waiting in the hall, and his hands were already clasped together, pleading. "The kids went on this mission and-"

You waved him off. "Go, oh my goodness." You stepped forward and stood on your tippy toes, and he still had to lean down to give you a quick kiss on the lips.

"You're the best, and I love you so much," Satoru said quickly, before kissing you on the lips and cheeks as well, this time.

"I know, I love you too," you said, swatting at his shoulder. "And the kids would to, if you save them on time."

Satoru snorted, and hurried to the living room. "Kiyo, baby!" Kiyoko giggled as Satoru practically came running at her, opening her arms widely as she always did when he did that. He picked her up and swung her. "Daddy has to go to work for five minutes, but I'll be right back, okay?"

"Noooo!" Kiyo whined, a deep frown now settling on her face.

You sighed, trying to pull her from Satoru's hands. "You should've left without her noticing," you said, struggling to pry your daughter away from him - partly because his grip on her was just as tight.

"What type of dad do you think I am?" Satoru asked, letting out a little dramatic, defensive gasp. He rubbed his nose against Kiyo's. "I'll be back soon, I love you. Now, here, stay with mommy-"

"Noooooo!"

You huffed, taking her back in your arms as she flailed around. "You spoil her too much."

Satoru ruffled her hair. "Of course I do. Okay, see you later - do you want anything while I'm out?" Satoru moved to leave the living room, and get out of sight from Kiyo so he could teleport.

"I'm okay-"

"Candy!"

"Candy, it is!"

By the time Satoru came back with candy, Kiyo was taking a nap against your arm as you sat on the couch, looking through an album. It was December, so the sun was setting earlier, and it was already dark. But only the lap was turned on in the house - no wonder Kiyo was sleeping.

Satoru chuckled, his blindfold already tossed aside before he spoke softly and approached you. "She's going to be up all night bothering us," Satoru joked, taking a seat next to you. He put his arm aside you, his fingers brushing against Kiyo's hair as she sat on your other side. "What are you looking at?"

"Kiyo's baby photos," you whispered, your eyes lingering on the ones that included Satoru. You could never recover the photos you'd deleted of just Satoru, that you used to keep for yourself. Each one was engrained in your brain, but the regret sat deeply in you. "I..." You looked up at his face. "I can't believe we lost so much time together. As a family."

Satoru shrugged, a light hearted grin on his face. "We're together now, right?"

You nodded, licking your lips. Satoru, noticing your hesitance, squeezed your shoulder.

"What's going through that pretty head of yours?"

You leaned your head over, to rest it against him. You flipped a page of the album, to make it to the next. It was a picture Satoru had taken when the two of you had broken the news about Kiyo to Tsumiki and Megumi. The kids were sitting on the couch, watching Haikyuu, and Megumi still hadn't processed your words, but Tsumiki was smiling widely, waiting for you to confirm it again.

"Kiyo is named after this moment," you whispered.

Satoru smiled at the memory. "Yeah."

"Do you think our next kid should be named after another character?"

"Eh, wouldn't we seem a bit like, too otaku-y? I think we should name... wait." You smiled, lifting your head up to look at his expression. His brows were furrowed slightly, and his lips were in a tiny pout. "Why are you asking?"

You pat the album, before nervously smiling at him. "I'm pregnant."

"Oh-" Satoru's eyes widened, and he quickly switched his sitting position, to bring both of his arms around you, into a hug. "Oh my goodness, baby- we're having a baby again!"

"Yeah!" You laughed, patting his back. "Careful, you're going to-"

"Daddy?" Satoru lifted his arm and pulled Kiyo into the hug, making her giggle, despite being tired.

Satoru kissed your jaw. "I love you - I love you so much. And I will love this baby as much as I love Kiyo. And we'll take care of you so well, and make sure you don't have to do a thing."

"What if I want to do a thing?" You grinned, your arm swung around his neck now, and your fingers pulling at his hair.

Satoru grinned back, absolutely lovesick. "Okay, well, it depends."

"Daddy?"

Satoru's attention shifted to Kiyo. "Yeah, baby?"

"Did you bring candy?"

"'Course!" Satoru scrambled up and led Kiyo by the hand to get the candy bag he had left at the front. You sat back on the couch, letting out a satisfied sigh. Once Kiyo had run back to the living room to show off her bag to you, you let her go off to her room to inspect the candies, as she liked to do, before deciding which one she wanted to eat first.

You and Satoru watched her as she ran off, before looking at each other with sickly sweet smiles. Satoru walked back to the couch, acting all innocent, until he sat back down right next to you and asked you a question : "When do you think it happened?"

You rolled your eyes at him, slapping his arm. "That's your question?"

"I'd like to know if my kid was conceived on our nice, comfy bed, or our luxurious kitchen, or --"

"Quit talking about our kid like that."

Satoru gasped. "What if it was the bathroom at Nanami's apartment?"

(It was. And because you can never for sure, you live your whole life in the discomfort of that idea).
