Questioned

Lunch time/prep finally came and as we sat in one of the empty wellness fitness classrooms, I noticed that we were being observed.

"Jim, I feel like someone is watching us." I said to him telepathically. Being a vampire was so cool. He nodded and motioned at the door.

I looked, and saw that the head principal was standing there, watching us eat our lunch.

"Good afternoon Principal Adams." We said in unison as he stepped into our room.

"Good afternoon, Kate, Jim." He nodded at us as he said each of our names. "How is your first day at Bampcreek, Miss Roisin?" He asked.

"I'm enjoying it so far, great kids, great colleagues, awesome partner."

"Partner?" He asked.

"Yes sir, I mean like, see um, Jim and I have all of our classes together, so we are kind of like partners." He nodded his head as I spoke.

"Well that's good then, I hope you two show your students good chemistry as you work together." He said to us, causing Jim to blush and me to nod profusely. "I know you two are roommates and all, so just as long as you keep it professional I'm fine with you working together." I nodded again.

With that he turned and left us alone again. Jim took my hand in his and kissed it as the door shut.

"We won't get in trouble, I promise. I'm sorry about earlier, first period? I just, it was an impulse." He winked at me. "I love you baby."

"Awwwwh ain't this just so cute!" Said one of the other gym teachers, Brock, as he walked in on us.

"This guy is a jerk, has always been one, we started the same year. And I know for a fact that he has his eye on you, I've known it ever since we had to come in that week to meet our colleagues..." Jim said telepathically.

"Too bad they just decided to switch our last class, Jimmy." He said, acting like the bully Jim said he was. "You now have class in the north gym and I have class in the south gym, it'll give me time to break in the newbie." He winked at me. "Cause it seems like someone else has been hogging her for himself."

"Brock, leave us alone, now." Jim said

"Fine, I'll see you later cutie." He said with a glance at me.

I scowled as he turned and left, drawing a chuckle from Jim.

"Can't you get the schedule fixed? So that we are still together? Please?" I looked at him.

"He was lying, babe. Geez start reading people's minds." He joked at me. "I really don't like that kid."

We finished our lunch and the bell rang, time for the fourth and final class of the day.

The class was changing and we decided to just sit on the bleachers until they were ready.

"Kate, I love you." Jim whispered to me.

"I love you too." I kissed him as I said it, and was surprised as a student yelled "Yeah Mr. R!"

Shoot that was the second time today we had been seen kissing by students.

"So let me guess, you guys are like a thing? That's why you're both gonna teach us?" The same student asked.

"Fine, we are a thing, but you can't be spreading rumors, so you won't say anything to your classmates." Jim ordered firmly.

Suddenly the smell of blood wafted through the air, causing my hungry body to show just how hungry it was.

"Babe," He leaned over and whispered into my ear. "Go to the faculty bathroom right now, you're hungry and it's showing, I'm not hungry, go feed, in my bag there is a water bottle with some blood in it, drink it down. Go. Now."

I obeyed quickly, taking his bag with me as I hid my face.

"Where were you Ms. Roisin?" One of the girls asked me as I re-entered the gym. "I saw your face get all weird and then you left. Mr. Rodriguez took roll for you. Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine, sweetheart," I answered her. "I just got a really bad head ache and had to get a drink and take some medicine." I lied to her.

The rest of the class period went much smoother and we were more than excited to go home at 2:18, where we weren't being constantly questioned.
