The Mess

I woke up the next morning to a very cold bed and remembered that it was Monday. Figuring Jim had left for an early gym visit, I got up to make some coffee and start my day.

"Good morning beautiful" Damon, who was sitting at my kitchen table, said scaring me to death.

"Oh my god, what are you doing here?" I hollered at him.

"Well I figured we could start your training, seeing as you don't have work today." He answered with a grin. I had forgot completely that it was the week before school started back up.

He was charming, I must admit, but he was just so...so, I don't know. There was something about him that I just didn't like.

"No, I don't want you to train me, I'll ask your brother." I said, hoping he'd leave me alone.

"Mmm, little Stefan, eh? Well that's fine, I'll send him over. I'm sure he'd love to take care of you" He said with a wink before he got up to leave. "Oh, and I hope you understand that training can get verrry personal. See you later."

I winced and began making my coffee as I tried to clear my head of his words. How personal could it truly get, I mean it was just power training right? Just then the doorbell rang.

"Hi," I said leading him inside. "Your brother just irks me, so I hope you don't mind training me and Jim." I handed him a cup of coffee and sat down at the kitchen table.

"Jim doesn't need training, only girls do. Male vampires are expected to figure it out on their own, females are taught, that's how it works." He said looking me over and then with a smirk. "I'll be happy to train you, but first you'll need some clothes, if you want."

I looked down, and realized I was in a tank top with no bra, and a pair of boy short style underwear. I blushed and shifted uncomfortably.

"Umm yeah, I should probably go get changed...just give me a couple minutes." I said before running down the hall to the bedroom.

Oh god, why? How could I be so stupid? Jim already hates Stefan and now I'm letting him see me almost naked? I threw on a pair of sweatpants and put on a sports bra and a sweatshirt and headed back to the kitchen.

"You know you shouldn't be so modest." Stefan said as I walked in. He was looking down at his coffee with a shy look on his face. "You are very beautiful. I didn't mean to make you upset like that."

I blushed again. "How long is this gonna take? I wanna learn how to use my powers but I don't have all century."

"Actually you do," He laughed. "but we will start now anyways. It'll take about a week, and you will have to stay with me during it. Damon already said Jim was okay with it, so no worries."

"I have to stay with you? At your house? Without Jim? No. Not happening. He'll stake me." I said shaking my head.

"Damon will be gone so there is no worries there, and Jim is okay with it. Like I said, no worries." I shook my head again and he grabbed my hand as he stood up.

He led me outside and back into the woods where he began to teach me how to use my powers. I could now run faster than a bullet and jump ten stories into the air.

"You are very strong," Stefan said impressed. "I couldn't jump that high until ten years after I turned."

I continued to show off for him, smiling more and more as he applauded. As bad as it sounds, it seemed as if I was starting to fall for him, starting to gain feelings for him, but I didn't catch myself until later that night at dinner.

"So now that you've tried everything I normally offer, which is your favorite?" He said as I pulled my mouth off of the limp rabbit in my hands.

"Mmm, definitely the fox. It's sweeter than everything else." I said with a yawn.

"Not as sweet as you." He complimented blushing.

"Oh, Stefan, please stop." I began to giggle. "Your so amazing and adorable, how don't you have a girlfriend?" I took a swig of the red wine in the glass in front of me.

"Well..." He began. "I've been on the market for a while and I just haven't met anyone right...until recently, that is."

"Oh, well I'm exhausted, so if it's fine by you, I'm going to hit the hay." I said quickly, realizing he was talking about me and not wanting to take this discussion any further. The fact that I was tipsy wouldn't be any help there.

He stood up as I stood up and before I could protest he took me in his arms, and pressed me against his muscular chest.

"I know you love Jim, but I can't help but want to be with you." He whispered. "Our auras match, we match. That night, I asked Damon to help me. I hadn't yet met you, but I knew you were for me. I had to get you for my own. Damon was to feed off of Jim and then I would swoop in and become yours." A tear streaked down his face. "Selfish. I know. But, it's how it should've happened."

At this point I could feel his wants as if they were my own and as he lifted my chin for our lips to meet I could not protest. Whether or not it was the alchohol in my system, I'll never know. What I did know is that I wanted him as bad as he wanted me and he knew it, he wouldn't let me protest even if I had the strength to.  As our lips touched a feeling that I never felt before came over me, a feeling so strong and so...so needy. As he went to pull his lips away from my own I pulled him tighter to me, but he was too tall, all he had to do was lift his head away from mine

"I, I love you, Kate." He said as I laid my head on his shoulder and allowed tears to stream down my face.

It felt right, but wrong. Thoughts of Jim tried to cloud my mind, but they were being pushed out completely by my new overwhelming desire for Stefan.

I fell asleep while in his arms and he laid me down in his bed for the night. Whether he slept next to me that night or not I'll never know as I woke up to another empty bed, but the smell of eggs and toast for breakfast gave me the knowledge that I wasn't alone.
