I woke up the next morning, pressed against his chest with his arms wrapped around me. Looking up I kissed his cheek softly, waking him up.
Part of me began wondering what happened overnight. I could remember the good stuff, the stuff that happened before we fell asleep, the stuff from when we were alive, but the rest felt like a dream.
"Mmm...good morning beautiful." He said sleepily. "How'd you sleep?"
"Jim, do you remember anything about last night???" I asked looking at him hard as it all started coming back to me.
"Besides this???" He said with a confused look as he began to kiss my neck.
"No no no, that's not what I meant love..." I moaned quietly as he finally figured out what I meant and his newfound fangs pierced the large artery in my throat.
Pushing him away and grabbing at my neck I giggled as he finally understood.
"Oh that..." He answered licking his lips.
"I'm gonna go shower and hope that this heals before we decide to go out for the day, mmk? You figure something out for breakfast, I'm starved." I said without truly understanding the hunger of my new self.
"Okay babe, I'll be waiting." He said before hurrying to the kitchen.

I could tell something was wrong before I stepped out of the shower.
"Jim! Are you okay?" I called as I stepped out of the bathroom.
After waiting five minutes without an answer and checking each of the rooms and finding no one in sight, I called him on his cell.
"Babe," I said as he answered. "Where are you?? You told me you'd be waiting for me when I got out of the shower...but you weren't there."
"I, I can explain. See I was really hungry and then our new neighbor Damon came over and he told me that he was gonna help me find something to eat. Well to make a long story short, I'm now at the mall in a back hallway covered in blood that isn't my own, can you bring me a change of clothes??? Pleaseeee?" He explained frantically.
"YOU'RE WHAT? There are other ways to feed love, different sources of blood. You don't need to kill, or even drink from human veins!" I told him coldly, remembering the struggle between rippers and vegetarian vamps as I gathered up a change of clothes for him. "I'm on my way, just stay there."
I was going to hate this new life. I already knew that.
