I heard a shriek come from the bottom of the pool. She jumped in but never came back up. I ran over to the pool and stared down. Her skin was blistering and she wasn't moving. The air was leaking out of her lungs fast, surfacing in big bubbles.

"Kate, I'll save you!" I screamed.

I grabbed for the skimmer and reached it down towards her body. 

Funny, the skimmer didn't disinegrate...I thought the water was acid?

I tapped her and she grabbed on. I pulled her to the deck careful not to get any of the water on me. She was barely able to pull her self up on to the deck, but I was happy she did. She coughed and coughed for air. Stefan ran into the yard.

"What's all the yelling about???" He seemed genuinely concerned. And then he saw Kate. "who's been here? Tell me WHO HAS BEEN IN YOUR BACKYARD?" He screamed at me.

"Dude, I don't know." I was confused. "Why is that so important?? Just fix her!"

"Go get me a bucket of tap water and I'll explain." Kate was breathing hard and I would do anything to make her pain go away.

There was a note on my back door that I hadn't seen. 

I am not who you think. I have been watching you two. Neither are deserving of these powers. My job is to fix that.

I went in and grabbed the water Damon had ordered me to get. He was listening to her breathing and taking her pulse, as if he was about to do CPR on her.

"She is having issues breathing, which is obviously from drowning and well the same thing that the water did to her outsides, it did to her insides. It will be an easy fix, once we fix her skin." He sighed. "This is a big lesson that shouldn't have been taught this way."

I handed him the note afer he splashed her and the boils started to die down.

"Oh. My. God." He sat there shaking his head. "Bite your wrist and feed her your blood. It will fix her insides. After that, you need to come over. Grab clothes and valuables, you're gonna be staying with us for a while."

I did as he said and he picked Kate up. She was passed out, which I was happy about. She had a smile on her face and seemed to be comfortable now. 

"Hurt her and I'll-" I started to warn Damon.

"What I'm doing is going to save her sexy little ass so you can just shut your mouth or I will drop her right here and leave you both to meet your death." He snapped at me.

I went inside to pack our bags and headed over to the Salvatore house. I opened the door and walked in. If my girl was in there, I had all the rights to do so.

"Jim!!!" Kate yelped as she saw me. She was wearing a long tee shirt. "I love you so much. Damon told me how you saved me and-." 

"Babe, we are in danger." I yelled a little to harshly at her. Her happy smiling face immediately turned sad. "Damon, what do I have to do?" I snapped my head around to look at him.

Stefan spoke quietly from the other side of my room. "You can take my room. Kate likes the bed, so enjoy." He still sounded hurt. 

That was as it should be. Kate was perfect and he didn't deserve her. He wanted to force his love in her mind and treat her like a trophy. No. She is and forever will be mine.

"Thanks," I said roughly. I grabbed her arm and dragged her down the hall.

"Jim, why did you just yell at me like that." She had her hands over her face and her shoulders were slumped. 

"Its not time for celebration, babe. I couldn't care less that I saved you right now. We are still in danger." I was staring out the window
