The weekend was gone just as fast as it came and when Wednesday morning rolled around we were back in the gym, teaching our favorite class, first period. After seeing us kissing, they decided we were the coolest teachers they had and gotten to know us. We were as close to friends as teachers were allowed to be to their students in the second week of school.

This morning, though, everyone seemed to have been hiding something from me. Neither the students on my roll and on Jim's had acknowledged me as they walked in, and they each seemed to have a big goofy grin on their faces when they sat down on the bleachers after they had changed.

"Okay guys, what's going on?" I laughed at them nervously.

Suddenly the basketball buzzer went off and there was a swish. I turned around, Jim had just shot a perfect bucket from the half court line. I looked at him weirdly.

"Baby," he said. "come here, I want to talk to you."

I walked over to the center circle where Jim stood and the entire class followed and sat around the circle staring at us as if they had preplanned the whole thing.

He got down on one knee and took my left hand in both of his.

"Kate," he began. "I've always thought that if I could make a basket from half court, I was the luckiest man alive." He shook his head. "I don't think that's the truth anymore." He reached into the pocket of his sweatshirt. "If you say yes to my next question, I will then truly be the luckiest man alive."

Tears started welling up in my eyes. He pulled a small black box out of his pocket and opened it up as he started talking again.

"Kate, will you be my forever?" He looked deep into my eyes. "Will you marry me?" He asked.

I dropped to my knees and hugged him around his neck, kissing his cheek softly as the tears started falling from my eyes.

"Yes! Yes, I'll marry you!" I squealed.

The entire class jumped up and clapped and cheered around us. He brought my face to his and kissed me passionately, stopping only to slide the 14 karat diamond and lapis white gold ring on my finger.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too." He whispered back.

Just then the best videographer of Bampcreek High's media program walked over and whispered something in Jim's ear.

"Sounds good." Jim said back. "Come on sweetheart, I got us the rest of the day off. Let's get out of here." He smiled.
