31 - Picture This

Katherine stood in her mothers living room, tears streaming down her face as she tried her hardest to get her coked out mom to listen to her.

"He's filing for custody. Mom, I'm so sorry." Katherine said, her words shaky as she sobbed.

Her mom mumbled something she couldn't understand, closing her eyes as she laid, sprawled out on the couch.

"Mom, please. Listen to me." Katherine cried, needing the woman who had birthed her more than ever.

"He won't file. He's too much of a pussy." Her mom finally said, getting another line ready.

"Stop doing drugs and pay attention to me." Katherine practically screamed, needing her to understand the weight of the situation.

Suddenly, the door swung open and the entire Kahn family walked in with Veronica Hastings.

"Oh, honey." Olivia Kahn said, rushing towards the teenager and pulling her into a hug, wiping the mascara stains and tears off of her face.

"Olivia and Steven will be taking Kat in, I'm doing everything in my power to ensure it." Veronica said, looking at Katherine's mom in disappointment and disgust.

"Whatever." Monica said, clearly unbothered by the entire situation.

"I can't do this." Katherine said, running up to her room with Noel and Eric right behind her.

"We're going to fix this, Kat." Eric reassured her as Noel rubbed her back.

"I hate him. I hate him so much." Katherine said, the tears flowing again.

Katherine left her face natural, worried she would start crying again as she headed to Aria's, needing to talk to someone. She would usually go to Spencer but she was worried on how her best friend would freak on her, finding out she'd basically be a Kahn when Veronica won the case.

Katherine knocked on Aria's door, her eyes dull as she stood on their porch before Aria came to the door, instantly worried when she saw Katherine's appearance.

"Kat? What happened?" Aria said, ushering the brunette inside and up to her room.

"I'm leaving my mom" Katherine blurted out.

"What? Are you serious? To your dad?" Aria questioned, her face serious as she sat them down on the bed.

"Hell no. The Kahn's are working to adopt me or something. This is all so fucked up." She said, tears beginning to pool up again.

"Oh, Katherine." Aria said, bringing the slightly taller girl into a hug, letting her cry on her shoulder.

Katherine walked into the school alone, once again not even bothering with makeup as she dragged herself through the hallway and to where she saw Aria and Emily.

"Hi." Katherine said quietly, her eyes catching Jason's as he turned the corner and saw the three girls.

"What's he doing here?" Emily asked, just before Jason walked past them and waved at them, Aria seeming to forget what she was saying as she watched him.

Katherine looked between Aria and Jason for a moment, trying to figure out why they were always so weird around each other.

"He counsels kids on substance abuse." Aria said, her gaze still following him.
