Kai struggled against the ropes holding him in place. He knashed his teeth at the pain of the ropes biting into his skin but tried to ignore it as he called out to Casey's retreating form.

"Casey! Wait! Don't leave me like this!" he shouted. (if you got the reference, you are my new best friend) "Please! Come back! Let me out!"

Kai watched as Casey hesitated at the door. Maybe there was a way to escape the confines of the turtles' lab after all. As much as he wished he didn't have to do this, he needed to get out more.

He let his mutation finally flow free, the sticky words spilling out of his mouth and latching onto Casey's consciousness.

"Casey, please," he begged. "Untie me. Let me go. Please."

Casey lurched forward like a zombie, like a puppet that Kai controlled. Although Casey's body followed the instructions, his mind did not. Terror gripped Casey's mind as his body was controlled from an outside source. He suddenly remembered the turtles talking about Kai's unique powers. Casey realized that he was being controlled by Kai.

Casey reached the back of the chair, taking a small knife and sawing at the ropes. "What are you doing to me?" Casey asked, a touch of panic rising in his voice.

"I'm sorry," Kai responded. "I really am."

Casey's hands fumbled around to untie the rest of the ropes. When the ropes were finally unwrapped from his hands, Kai brought them from behind the chair and rubbed his wrists, hoping to regain some feeling back in his limbs. He then bent down and untied the ropes connecting his ankles to the legs of the chair.

Casey stood net to Kai. He still couldn't get over how tall Casey was. Kai may have been short, but her was still very powerful. The affects of his mutation were wearing off on Casey, but the taller boy made no move to stop Kai as he stood up and straightened out his black hoodie.

"Casey," Kai said.

"What?" he snapped.

"I do love you, you know," Kai answered. "Or maybe you don't. But I never lied to you about that." Casey stayed silent as the shorter boy spoke. He shoved his hands in the pocket of his sleeveless hoodie. "I know you love me too," Kai continued. "I know you don't want to admit it, especially after all I have done. I know you no longer... trust me. So, I will go now. You'll never have to see me ever again. Not as Kai, anyway."

Kai turned away from Casey and headed toward the door of the lab. Suddenly, he was pulled back by the hood of his jacket into Casey's arms. Casey wrapped his arms around Kai's waist, trapping him chest-to-chest.

"Wha—" Kai yelped with surprise.

"I don' know what you've done ta me," Casey interrupted, pulling Kai tighter against him. Kai put his hands on Casey's chest to maintain his balance. "But I have a very strong urge ta kiss ya right now and nothin' is gonna stop me."

"Wha—"

Kai was once again interrupted by Casey as he quickly leaned down and smashed their lips together. He slipped his tongue into between Kai's teeth, exploring every inch of Kai's mouth. Kai was too startled to do anything at first, but then melted into the kiss and leaned up closer to Casey. They fought for dominance, kai eventually winning and pushing Casey into the lab table.

Casey lifted himself onto the table without breaking the kiss. He spread his legs wide enough so that Kai could stand in between his legs. Kai ran his hands up inside Casey's multitude of shirts and fingered along the long muscles of his stomach. Don't let Casey's scrawny physique fool you, he was quite toned under all the layers of cotton.

Casey ran his fingers through Casey's hair, pulling at the ends gently. Little noises escaped Kai's mouth with each tug, though still quiet enough that anyone outside of the lab doors would never know what was happening in Donnie's sacred place.

Eventually, the two had to break for air. As much as they needed each other like water, oxygen was also a necessity.

They gazed at each other with half-lidded eyes. Not daring to speak for fear of ruining the moment. But it was getting late and Kai needed to go. "Casey.," he sighed.

"Mm?" was the answer from Casey's face buried in the crook of his neck.

"I'm really sorry," he said. "For everything. For lying to you. For breaking your trust, And, most importantly, for this."

"Wait, what do you mean?" Casey asked. He started pulling away from their embrace.

Kai reached out a hand and touched Casey's forehead. It was a part of his mutation that he rarely used anymore, now that he was no longer pursuing petty do-gooders and focusing more on his mission with the turtles and Casey.

Casey opened his mouth to say something, but no sound came out as his brown eyes rolled back into his head and he collapsed to the ground in a heap of lanky arms and legs.

"Goodbye, Casey Jones," Kai whispered. "This is for the best. It would be better if you never saw me again, but I can only guarantee that you will never see Kai. Shadowman will live on."

Kai grabbed his backpack and put his things back inside of it that the turtles had previously taken out while he was still unconscious. He grabbed his weapons and sheathes, reattaching them to their designated spots on his body.

He quickly walked to the door, turning to the unconscious form of Casey laying on the floor. He wiped the tears from his eyes, and he pulled his hood over his head and whispered one final goodbye to his best friend and lover.

"I love you forever."

***

Casey didn't want to remember anything that had happened. He didn't want to remember going out to lunch with Kai and them confessing that he loved him. He didn't want to remember the magical kiss that they shared late at night in Casey's living room. He didn't want to remember kai trying to protect him from the turtles. He didn't want to remember Kai being kidnapped. He didn't want to remember learning that Kai had been lying to him the whole time. He didn't want to remember the kiss in Donnie's laboratory.

He didn't want to remember Kai leaving him.

But when the turtles had found him unconscious on the floor of Donnie's lab without a trace of Kai being anywhere, it was hard to forget anything.

Sure, Rapheal had been a tad bit upset that Kai was able to escape them. But once everyone saw the pain of betrayal that rested behind Casey's eyes, their accusations ceased and they all tried to come up with a battle strategy.

They all figured going on a patrol around the city would be the best course of action since nobody knew of any weapon deals or anything else of gang interest going on around the city. Everyone was excited to finally beat some shredder-goon ass, but Master Splinter decided to stay behind. The Shadowman now knew exactly where their lair was and he wanted to be there in case anything would come to their home.

The turtles, Casey, and April all grabbed their weapons and suited up. It was always better safe than sorry, plus all the turtles really liked having a lot of weapons. They said it made them look "badass".

The six of them ran out of the lair, passing by a small table on the way out that was covered in special objects and pictures from their incredibly unique adventures.
