Y/n sat at her desk, reading the song she created. A sense of accomplishment washed over her as she read through the final verse, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Then her gaze drifting to the window where the last rays of golden light got in the room.
She was so proud of herself that she wrote that song all alone!
Well...
She couldn't deny that a slight help from Hobie had nudged her in the right direction.Y/n walked in Lily's garage where her teammates were already. They turned towards her, as they saw happiness in her face and excitement in her eyes. Lucas, with his drumsticks clutched in his hands, grinned amused at her <<Hey, what's got you all fired up today?>>.
With a big smile, she held out the lyrics to them <<I've finished it! The song I've been working on, it's finally done.>>
Marianne's eyes widened in excitement <<Let's see it!>>.
Just then Y/n got shy, as everytime she showed the lyrics. She was slightly red and waited flr her friends' judgment.
As they red all over lyrics, the room was filled with silence and murmurs of approval. Lucas nodded appreciatively, and Marianne couldn't contain her excitement <<I can't wait to play this, Y/n. It's so smooth and rhythmic. >>
Lily smiled warmly at Y/n <<How did you get so inspired all of a sudden?>>
Y/n chuckled, a twinkle in her eye <<I got a little help.>>.
Lily raised an eyebrow <<From who?>>.
A moment of hesitation flickered across Y/n's face before she admitted <<From Hobie.>>
Lily's eyes frowned for a second <<Hobie? Who's Hobie?>>.
Y/n didn't know her best friend's reaction would be. But she eventually spoke <<Do you remember the tall piercing guy at our exhibition...?>>. Just these words made Lily's eyes widened in disbelief <<That's his name? The punk rude guy? Are you serious?>>.
Y/n shook her head, her voice earnest <<He's not what you think. He's actually really nice and helpful.>>
Lucas hearing that just remembered the day they met him <<The i-am-better-than-you guy? Gosh...>> he muttered. Marianne just listened.
As the realization sank in, Lily's skepticism face got replaced by a curiosity <<How? We met him just that one time... or you met him more than once?>> Lily raised her eyebrown.
<<Yeah... I did. I did not on purpouse, it just happened.>> Y/n admitted. It was the truth after all.
Lily listened and couldn't help but nod. Marianne just them spoke <<Well, if he helped her to create something this good, maybe he's not that bad.>>.
Lily nodded at her friend's words.
Lucas was still mumbling between him and himself <<I dont like that guy at all... but the song is nice.>> he admitted.Y/n got so carried away by music and the song, that she was almost forgetting about her studies.
And to do not let that happen, she started studying immediately just after she got home from practicing.
Her mother was out of work so she just had the whole house for herself. She was going put all herself in this and nothing and nobody could distract her.
Till...
Her phone started ringing.
Her attention immediately shifted from her law books to her phone, which was on the window, far from her to do not get distracted.
She stood up and grabbed her phone, reading the unknown phone number and eventually answered it.
<<Hello?>> she asked to the phone, waiting for a response. It came after a couple of seconds <<How y'doing love?>>. That voice and that way to talk was too unique to do not know who it was.
<<I thought you said you had no phone to call me?>> she asked, remembering the last time they met when she gave him her phone number but he eventually admitted he didn't have one. Hobie chuckled, speaking <<In fact I don't have one. Its not mine.>>.
She hesitated but eventually asked <<And how you have a phone now?>>.
<<Easy way: stealing.>> he said.
<<But why? Can't you buy one?>>.
<<Aye, I wasn't about to give any of my coin to those capitalist blokes. Can't stand 'em.>> he spoke, with his usual british slang.
Y/n sighed, not entirely shocked by his admission <<And I can't stand thieves.>>.
Hobie chuckled lightly <<But I am not one. Ahhh... I remember you are studying law and all that rubbish. Always so serious about these things.>>
Y/n defended that subject <<It's not rubbish. It's important.>>.
Hobie paused for a moment before continuing <<I don't put much stock in a lot of things, y'know.>>
<<There is something that you believe in?>> she asked.
<<Nope, not even in couples or teams.>> he admitted.
Y/n frowed for a second, reminded him <<You have your band, though.>>.
After a brief silence, Hobie's voice returned <<I don't believe in consistency either.>>
Y/n sighed deeply, and Hobie chuckled again. He loved messing up with her.
Then he started speaking again <<And actually I stole it for a good reason.>>.
<<Let's hear it.>>.
<<To speak with you, love.>>.
She stayed quiet for a second. It was actually a valid reason. Partially.
<<Do you have to tell me something?>>.
<<I was wondering if you were busy.>> he asked. She looked at her books, eventually she spoke <<I was studying... why are you asking?>>.
<<Aye studying studying studying. That brain of yours will explode one day or another.>> he said playfully.
Y/n rolled her eyes and sighed again <<Why you wanted to know anyway?>> she kept asking.
<<Well tonight me and my blokes are playing into a pub. Wanna come and hear us?>> he asked. Y/n thought about it.
Exams were so close and she had no intention of waisting more and more time.
But when it was about music... she couldn't help it.
<<Yes, okay.>>.
<<Cool, I'd love to hear your opinion on it, love.>>
