Lowering herself down onto the sofa, Leah sighs and drops her crutches to the side of her as Lia follows her into the living room and places her bag on the coffee table.

'I know this wasn't the outcome you wanted...' Lia says softly as she sits down on the sofa beside Leah who immediately rests her head on the brunette's shoulder.

'It could've been worse.' Leah replies causing Lia to nod her head.

'Doesn't make it easier when you're out for six months and need another surgery, does it?' Lia says causing the blonde to shrug her shoulders.

'I can do six months... We'll just focus on expanding our family, yeah? I can do my recovery and we can prepare for our next transfer?' Leah says feeling Lia intertwine their fingers.

'Are we not better waiting until you've had your surgery and you're well on your way to recovery before we even think about the next transfer?' Lia asks.

'No. I just- It'll give me something to focus on other than my stupid knee.' Leah replies and the bruentte nods her head.

'Okay then... I'll see when the clinic can fit us in and we'll take it from there. We've got a few weeks until you can have surgery so we'll see how it all fits around that.' Lia says smiling as she kisses the blonde's head.

'What have you got on today?' Leah asks.

'Absolutely nothing. Why? Is there something you want to do?' Lia asks watching a small smile appear on the blonde's face.

'Go have a nap?' Leah says and Lia nods her head.

'Sure. Do you need a hand getting changed or getting into bed?' Lia asks.

'No, I'll manage but do you fancy lying with me for a bit?' Leah says.

'Mm-hmm... Of course. Let's go then my little invalid.' Lia replies smiling. She pushes herself into a standing position before helping the blonde up and ensuring she's steady on her crutches before they make their way through to the bedroom.

'Hey... Are you feeling up to having a visitor?' Lia asks softly as she peeks her head into the bedroom where Leah is sitting up in bed half-watching some random crime documentary on her phone while scrolling through Instagram.

'Mm-hmm... Yeah, can you pass me my crutches?' Leah says pushing the covers off her and wincing slightly as she attempts to swing her legs off the bed.

'Careful...' Lia warns as she makes her way over and grabs the crutches.

'I forgot how hard it is to get used to these again.' Leah says as she gets her balance on the crutches.

'You just need to take your time.' Lia replies, her hand resting on Leah's lower back.

'Who's the visitor?' Leah asks.

'Alex.' Lia replies causing the blonde to smile. Slowly they make their way out of the bedroom and through to the living room where Alex immediately stands from her position on the sofa.

'Oh, Le...' Alex says making her way over to the blonde.

'I'm okay.' Leah replies letting one crutch fall into Lia's hand as she wraps her arm around Alex.

'My heart sank when I saw you go down. I just- I immediately had flashbacks.' Alex says wrapping her arms around the blonde.

'I know, I know.' Leah replies softly.

'What are they saying then? What's the diagnosis? You'll have had your scans by now, right?' Alex asks as they make their way over to sit on the sofa.

'Yeah, had them this morning and then got the results pretty quickly afterwards actually... A ruptured external meniscus. They've said surgery then obviously rehab but all going well I should only be out for six months.' Leah replies resting her leg on the footstool Lia has pushed over to her.
