'What's going on? What's happened?' Leah asks as she makes her way into the bedroom to find Lia almost hyperventilating as she sits in bed propped up by the pillows behind her.
'I-I don't know.' Lia mumbles shaking her head as she covers her face with her hands and continues to sob.
'Oh my goodness... Come here.' Leah says softly as she sits down on the bed and wraps her arm around the brunette's shoulders.
'Right, talk to me... What's going on in that head of yours, ey? What are you thinking about?' Leah asks.
'I just- I don't know. My whole body hurts and I just- I want to get up and do things but I can't and I just feel so useless.' Lia says shaking her head.
'You are absolutely not useless, love. I know it can't be easy going from being able to do everything, being fit and healthy to having had major surgery and not being able to do as much for yourself as usual.' Leah replies.
'I just want to pick up our babies and snuggle them. I want to be able to go for walks with them like I imagined or pop down to the pub for a roast.' Lia says causing the blonde to nod her head.
'I know you do and you'll be able to do that, we'll be able to go for walks and do all the things we want with our babies but you just need time to recover.' Leah replies kissing the top of the brunette's head.
'Right listen, this is what we're going to do... I'm going to message Kim and my mum, tell them both that we're not feeling up to any visitors today. Then I'm going to make us some breakfast and get the sofa all cosy for us and we'll just have the day together, just our little family.' Leah says.
'They'll be so disappointed.' Lia says shaking her head.
'They'll understand.' Leah replies causing Lia to sigh as she leans heavily against the blonde.
'Can we have a takeaway tonight?' Lia almost whispers.
'We can have whatever you want today, love.' Leah replies softly.
'Chocolate for breakfast?' Lia asks quietly causing the blonde to smile.
'Absolutely.' Leah replies.

'I'm sorry for blubbering all over you this morning.' Lia says softly as she watches Leah cradle Matteo against her chest.
'You've got nothing to apologise for, Lia. You're allowed to feel overwhelmed, you're allowed to be emotional.' Leah replies making her way over to the sofa where she sits down on the sofa.
'It just all felt a bit much.' Lia admits and the blonde nods her head.
'We maybe rushed the visitors a bit too soon after you getting home.' Leah says keeping Matteo cradled against her chest with one hand while her other arm drapes around Lia's shoulders.
'I want people to visit, I do... I just-' Lia mumbles causing Leah to smile slightly.
'We'll just space it out a bit more.' Leah says and the brunette nods her head.
'Yeah, maybe that's an idea.' Lia replies nodding her head. They've had a lazy morning on the sofa with blankets watching movies and just relaxing. They've ate copious amounts of chocolate and ice cream.
'What do you fancy for dinner?' Leah asks.
'Chinese, I think.' Lia replies as there is a knock at the front door.
'You take Teo and I'll go get rid of whoever it is.' Leah says softly. She passes the newborn over to her fiancée before making her way towards the front door. Opening the door, Leah smiles slightly as she finds a hamper sitting on the doorstep with a 'hello baby' balloon attached to it. Lifting the hamper, she makes her way into the house.
'Oh my goodness, what's that?' Lia asks.
'I don't know. Just found it sitting on the doorstep.' Leah replies placing it on the coffee table. Opening the hamper, she pulls out a note and begins to read.
'Leah and Wally,
Sending you guys lots of love. Can't wait to meet your bundles of joy. Here are just some bits to make this period easier for you all.
Love,
Kim x''How sweet of her.' Lia says smiling.
'There's so much in here... Gift vouchers for food and everything.' Leah says shaking her head.

'Hey, Leah... How are you guys doing?' Kim asks softly causing Leah to smile as she holds the phone to her ear.
'Hey, Kimmy... We're doing okay; I think Lia just needed a day in the house without anyone coming round. Thank you for the hamper, by the way. It really does mean the world to us.' Leah replies.
'Completely understandable. Honestly like you two take as much time as you need away from people... You guys have been through so much and it would be a lot for anyone to go through.' Kim says softly.
'It's been a lot.' Leah admits quietly.
'I can't even imagine. Are you doing okay though? Do you have someone you can talk to?' Kim asks.
'Mm... I'm okay just now. I don't think it's all hit me yet if I'm being honest. Probably once I know that Lia is on the mend and that, it'll sink in but as of right now they're my main priority.' Leah replies.
'Well you know where I am, Leah. If you need to talk to anyone, at any time. I don't mind if it's three or four in the morning... Just give me a call.' Kim says.
'Thanks, Kim... We can arrange a day for you to come visit the babies soon; I just want to give Lia some space.' Leah replies.
'No rush, Leah. I can wait.' Kim says.

Sitting the rocking chair, Leah can't help but smile as she gently rocks back and forth with both babies curled up against her chest as the room is dimly lit up by the moonlight peeking through the windows as the room is filled with silence aside from the soft breathing of both babies. It's a little after 3am and she's found herself gently rocking the babies in the nursery while Lia sleeps peacefully in bed. It turns out the quiet day is exactly what both of them needed; no visitors, just them and the babies.
'Le...' Lia says softly as she appears at the nursery door.
'Why aren't you sleeping?' Leah asks glancing at the brunette who's leaning on the doorframe.
'Come to bed... They're both absolutely sound.' Lia replies and Leah nods her head.
'I'm just coming...' Leah says quietly.
