Idea: Have Subaru be from the Dragon Ball world further in the timeline either a bit before major events that lead up to Dragon Ball Online(Probably between age 890-972) or after the events of that game(just peaceful times for a generation+). Either way, it's at the point at which he can have Saiyan ancestors without knowing it, friendly alien races have made Earth their home with the regular Dragon Ball fantasy and tech elements being there(aliens terraform some parts of the planet), and Ki control and techniques are very well known to the public with there being multiple very large ki technique-focused martial arts schools(one focuses on sword ki techniques, one focuses on teamwork and wearing down tougher opponents, and one focuses on powerful ki techniques specifically) and a VR martial arts dojo.
You can have stuff such as Kenichi teaching Subaru some Ki techniques, Subaru having a book about Ki control, and/or book or entire library(Capsules) about how to do ki techniques.(Would expect there to be a lot of tutorials on the internet, could have a bunch of them downloaded)(No data for the Southern Transformation Kindergarten at these times, but it does exist during Xenoverse, so it could exist?(if or if not Xenoverse is cannon to this)) Also, Zenkais(Zenkai doesn't apply to RBD). Could also have his complex be partially fueled by being descendant of hero of Earth and/or a super scientist Capsule Corp CEO, either with or without knowing Saiyan ancestry, if family history is preserved to a point.

Could give him a title on the Dragon Tablet such as "Descendant of the Saiyan Prince" if descendant of Vegeta or something. Could have him on the edge of transforming into a Super Saiyan at various points, but it doesn't happen the first couple times for various reasons(either running out of energy or the enemy getting taken care of). Could have the tail and Ōzaru, the tail being relatively subtle if worn like a belt.
Crack extra: Give Subaru the weird Saiyan aging thing where they look extremely young looking to a point, after which they age rapidly to adulthood, put that at around 17, and have him summoned at around 16 years old(Or have him summoned at his typical 17, putting his growth spurt at 18 with the excuse of him being a late bloomer). We have a Subaru that looks like a child, being smaller than Felt, and is relatively overpowered. After the post-arc 4 timeskip, he ages into looking his regular age, surprising everyone. Could also have him get on that Super Saiyan Bargain Sale™ pre-summoning if you want him to be very overpowered.
Crack extra 2: Subaru comes from a timeline where the Super Saiyan God ritual became public knowledge, and therefore, much of Earth's population with Saiyan blood just decided to do it at various points, including Subaru. He doesn't think of the form being especially overpowered at the beginning because everyone has it and some people have access to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan(blue). Maybe have it so he only has the energy to support the form for like 10 sec. and would have to get stronger to use it for longer, but it's overpowered enough to take care of most foes in that time.
