Tortuga. Why did it have to be Tortuga? Is he mental?

I passed two drunk men... you couldn't call them men, practically all the people in Tortuga were pirates. They leered at my as I passed them, shooting a look of disgust at them as I did so.

"Hey luv!" yelled one, coming in my path. "Wanna drink?" He held up the bottle he was holding and I scowled at him.

"No thanks."

Suddenly a tall boy of about 16 years came in front of the man, punching him in the nose. The man fell to the ground, holding his nose.

"OI!" roared the man's friend. He advanced on the boy, who grabbed my arm and ran, pulling me with him.

"Seth, what are you doing?" I said angrily in his ear. For the boy at my side was definitely my twin, his hair had grown and he was definitely at least a centre metre taller than when I last saw him.

"Lia? Thank goodness you've come!"

I smiled. "There's no need to sound so surprised. You did invite me."

Seth shook his head. "I didn't think Sao Feng would let you go. Dad didn't like you staying with him."

My smile faded a bit. "Well it took a bit of persuading with Sao Feng."

Seth raised his eyebrows. "Since when did you ask permission to do what you want? Normally your version of persuading is getting a pistol out."

My guilty expression sort of gave away what had happened. As we headed to a pub, I told Seth the full story.

"... and then he called me a lady!"

Seth grinned and said, "That's a bad idea."

We turned into a pub which was full of pirates, all drinking. He made his way to the back table, where a man with dread locks and dark menacing eyes  sat. He stood up when we sat down and Seth said, "Dad, meet Lia. Lia this is your father."
