Her deep blue eyes stared into my green ones. She was perfect. Her brown hair was slightly curly on the top and as her tiny fingers clasped my own finger Seth walked in.

"Oh my gosh," He said, looking stunned. "I'm a dad. I'm a dad."

I smiled at him, holding out the baby, who was wrapped in a shawl.

"Say hello to your little girl."

He reached down and touched her soft cheek with a shaking hand. I dropped her gently in his arms, watching him fall slowly under her spell.

"How's Irina doing?" he asked, tickling the baby under her chin. Thank goodness he hadn't said, 'A goochie goochie goo' otherwise I might vomit.

"Fine I think, she resting now."

Seth started to say something like, a goochie goochie goo but was cut short when the baby began to cry.

"WHAT IS THAT DARN RACKET?" yelled a voice from above. "MR GIBBS, IS THAT YOU MAKING THAT ANNOYINGLY BABYISH WAILING SOUND? AND WHO DID I HEAR SAYING GOOCHIE GOO?!"

Jack came thundering in looking rather agitated. The baby stopped crying the minute he entered and began to wave her arms towards him, as though wanting to be held. Jack swayed dangerously on the spot, and it had nothing to do with the ship.

"Hiya Gumpa," I said to him, grinning to him as Jack stared down into the deep blue eyes.
