Laashayaa's pov

"Acha chalti hu dua men yaad rakhna, okay?" I said to lavanya who gave me a pitiful look which made me more tensed and walked out of the café where my mother was standing near my car. She looked at the car and gave me a glare which was enough to make me shiver in fear.

Oh god save me!

"You wait till we reach home. Tujhe chappal se nhi mari toh mera naam bhi meenakshi nhi." She said and sat in driver's seat and I sat in passenger seat. After a drive of 20 min we reached home. The moment she stopped the car I ran out of it and dashed towards the door. "Kuku stop there itself. Dare to move an inch and I will kill you here itself". My mother yelled and i froze on the spot. Her voice held the threat which I was always afraid of.

She came near me and looked at me with a suspicious look and asked "What were you trying to do, huh? ". I gave her a nervous smile and said," I-I wanted to u-use the w-washroom. Yes washroom. I wanted to use the washroom. Aaj kal bohot dhup hai na aur mitti bhi bohot hai toh socho jaldi jaake fresh ho jaati hu". I said nervously because her look was not doing any justice to me.

"Jo ladki subha nahane ko itne nakre dekhati hai aaj vhi ladki bahar se aake ke nahane ka baat kar rhi hai wah!. What do you think? I don't know your excuses. Maa hu teri ache se janti hu tujhe. Chal tu aandar aaj toh tujhe tere papa se pitvaogi." Saying this she pulled my ears and dragged me inside the house.

My dad was sitting on the couch watching the tv. His eyes landed on us and asked us, "What happened? Why are you both coming like this? And why are you pulling her ears? " He almost snapped at mother but before it could proceed my mother said "You ask you darling daughter what she did. Wait don't ask her i will tell you. Aapki putri ne kisi ladke ke car pe takar maar de hai and she fought with him in middle of the traffic." She said looking at me and my father asked "Sach mai?"I nodded my head and looked down. What can i do? If i look up my mother will eat me up.

"There is no use in telling you." My mother said and pushed aside and stood in front of me. "Mai kya karu iss ladki ka? Jab bhi dekho kuch na kuch kand karke aati hai . Mai aapko baata rhi hu ye kabhi nhi sudregi. Kisi kaam ke nhi....." And it went on and on. Her lectures never stops once it starts and it depends upon her mood whether she wants to stop or not.

While she was talking my phone pinged with a notification. It was mail. As soon as i checked the mail i screamed. Literally screamed.

I can't belive it. OMG!

"What happened? Why are you screaming?" My father asked and I hugged him tight. "You remember the interview which I gave last week? I got selected for the position of P. A for the CEO of that company. They are asking me to join tomorrow itself." I said with excitement and jumped up and down. "I thought you would never pass that interview but look, you did it. My daughter did it." My father said with the same exciting tone and we both jumped up and down.

"Oh god you listened to my prayers. You made  my daughter an independent girl now.  Thank you so much." My mom thanked god and looked at me softly. "Mujhe pata tha ki tum ye kar logi. I'm proud of you. " My mother said patting my head. "But a few minutes before you said I am of no use " i asked who looked at me softly and said with a smile " That you are. But I hope you do your job well". Was that a compliment or an insult?

Well, whatever. Now I am going for shopping. I want everything perfect tomorrow.

"Okay i am going for shopping. I want to buy some things for tomorrow, okay bye". I announced and left home home.
