She looked at him with wide eyes, not knowing what to do. She had lost her second kiss to the same person, making her feel even more confused.
Whenever she came near him, her heartbeat quickened, making her feel as if her heart would jump out of her ribcage. His smile always gave her butterflies, and his glare made her feel everything except fear.
She tried getting up from him, but he pulled her back, pressing his lips onto hers. Her already widened eyes widened even more at his sudden action.
He didn't move-just kept his lips pressed against hers, holding her in place. Feeling out of breath, she suddenly got up and ended up sitting on his stomach, making him groan in pain.
Now, her sitting on him really suffocated him because he couldn't breathe properly.
"Laashyaa, u-utho mere u-upar se," he struggled to say.
Before she could react, her eyes landed on a cockroach on the floor-flying. She jumped off him in an instant and ran to the room, screaming, "Vo udd raha hai! Hey Mahadev, bacha le mujhe!"
Hearing her, he quickly got up and ran for his life because, really, who even entertains it when cockroaches start flying?
He rushed into his room and leaned against the closed door, placing his hand on his chest. Suddenly, his brain reminded him of what he had just done downstairs in the kitchen, making him curse at himself.
"Now, how will I face her? I know she must be plotting something against me, just like last time. Pehle grocery shopping karwaya tha, iss baar toh pakka khana banane ke liye bolegi. Hey Bhagwan, ab main kya karu?" He groaned, walking toward his bed and flopping down on his stomach.
But instead of worrying about her upcoming 'torture,' his mind kept drifting back to their kiss. There was no doubt that he liked her-a lot-but he couldn't just go and confess his feelings, fearing rejection. His cheeks burned at the thought of their kiss, and before he knew it, he was kicking his legs in the air like a lovestruck idiot.
The next morning, Karthi woke up early and got ready in casuals because today he had multiple meetings, and wearing a suit would only make him sweat like hell.
He sat in the living room on the couch, scrolling through his phone to check emails when he suddenly heard the clicking of heels.
Turning his head, he saw Laashyaa walking down the stairs in a white anarkali suit. Coincidentally, he was also wearing a white shirt. His breath hitched as he looked at her-she looked like an angel descended from heaven. His phone slipped from his hands as she stood in front of him.
"Chale?" she asked, but he kept staring into her eyes, which were adorned with kajal and eyeliner. Her eyes-those were the most beautiful and captivating thing about her.
He stood there, lost in admiration, hearts practically floating in his eyes, while Laashyaa remained oblivious to his trance and kept calling his name.
And then, as if the universe was in sync with his emotions, a song started playing. A song that perfectly fit the moment.
Tere naina, tere naina
Naino ki chaal hai, makhmali haal hai
Neechi palkon se badle samaa
Rab ki ne'mat hai teri nigaahen
Jisme basti hai uski duaaein, duaaein...
"It's beautiful..." he mumbled, still staring at her.
Just as he was about to lose himself completely, the song suddenly stopped, making him curse under his breath. But his frustration quickly turned into something else as he heard a very annoying and irritating sound.
"Bhaiya! Main aa gaya!"
It was none other than his brother, Neeraj.
"Sara mood kharab kar diya kutte ne," he mumbled, thinking it was only audible to himself. But unfortunately-or fortunately-Laashyaa heard it, making her cheeks turn a rosy hue.
