Tanjiro had a few injuries from the fall, the train was rolled off from the tracks after all. He managed to close them up with Total Concentration though there was still little dried up blood on his body.
The demon then dashed over to Tanjiro aiming for his head, Tanjiro was about to defend himself but Rengoku managed to attack the demon in that split second.

Rengoku slashed at the demon's arm. The demon backed away to its original spot.
"That's a fine katana" He commended.
"I don't get why you would attack someone injured" Rengoku questioned.
"I thought he may get in our conversation, besides he's way more powerful than a normal demon slayer" The demon said.
"You two are Hashira aren't you?" The demon asked.
"I am the Flame Hashira, Rengoku Kyojuro" Rengoku said.
"I am Akaza" The demon introduced itself.
"Well, you and me have different sense of values" Rengoku said.
"Kyojuro, I have a proposal for you, become a Demon" Akaza said.
"No, I won't" Rengoku said.
"Kyojuro, you know why you can't enter the supreme territory? Because you're a human" Akaza said.
"No matter what the reason! I won't become a Demon" Rengoku said.
"Well then...I have no choice but to kill you"
