Chapter 6

Sophie saw Edaline's eyes widen, and threw her arms around Jolie. Same with Grady. Who joined in a moment late.
"Mom. Dad." Jolie said, and Edaline sobbed.
"Oh, Jolie, why...?" Edaline asked and trailed off.

Then she notices. Where was Wylie?
"Wylie is with his mother, Cyrah, her soul animal is an unicorn." Mother told her.
"Yes. I suspect he wants to meet her." Said Mr. Forkle, sniffling.
"They were so happy... and then Prentice." He continued, wiping his eyes. He turned to his brother.
"I have missed you so much. You were the one who knew everything and... I'm not sure I can live like this. Alone."
"Brother, you are not alone. You have Mother, Elysian, Sophie and the Black Swan. Let my loss fuel you. I'm sorry I had to leave you, but I'll never regret saving Oralie and killing Brant." The brother said.
"But why..." his voice cracked, and he turned away, wiping his eyes. His brother and him talked for a while, exchanging news. Edaline was leaning on Jolie, but she wasn't crying, she was whispering to her and everyone was getting so emotional. Wylie was talking with Cyrah, why had she worked for the Neverseen to protect him? Why didn't she tell her? Anger was the reaction. Grady was talking with Brielle, telling her how much he appreciated her defending. It had to stop. Even Sophie felt like crying. But she had to stay strong, for everyone.

But then a familiar Red-Head figure stopped in front of her, and her tears broke free.
"K-kenric?" She stammered. Kenric hugged her, and she dried her tears on his cape.
"You really are gone." She murmured softly.
"I'm not gone, Sophie, I'm here, and I won't get reincarnated until Oralie and you come here."
"Sophie, would you like to know your biological father?" Mother asked, ignoring the glares from the Forkle brothers.
"Yes," She blurted out, without meaning too. But innerly, she was still curious.
"Elwin." Mother answered.
"Elwin?" Sophie repeated, shocked.
"Yes," the dead Mr. Forkle said. It was easy to tell them apart because, well, the people who resided here, whatever this was called-
"This is called the Spiritrealm. This specific place is called Starglow. Each soul that resides here represents one star in the sky at night. And each soul chooses the happiest moment of their life to choose form here, they can change their human form, if they wish." Mother told her.
"You're a star?" Mr. Forkle asked his dead twin, drying his tears.
"No, silly. When a soul comes here, they represent a star. So I represent a star when I come here, so will you, when you come here, should that day happen..." The dead Mr. Forkle said.
"It's a simple fact. Everyone dies one day. Elves, Trolls, Gnomes, Goblins, everyone. You might live for a trillion years but you will join us here someday. It will happen. It's simply the circle of life and death. Do not forget that. I have everyone's destinies written and everyone will reside here someday. Sure, sometimes people don't follow their destinies, but following your destiny is a choice. A choice. A destiny is but a guide. The rest you do. You make your destiny complete." Mother explained, triggering more tears.
"Now, you must leave. I cannot have you here any longer. But I will meet you in your dreams." Mother said, and with that, the world faded away.

Sophie woke up on her bed, trying to process all she'd just seen. It was true, definitely true.

"Hey, Foster." A voice said, Keefe!
"Keefe!" She said, excitement pouring through her veins.
"Well, I have bad news, Foster." Keefe said.
"What is it?" Sophie asked, worried.
"The Neverseen attacked Eternalia, they're getting past the goblins to kill the Councillors. Their castles already fell." Keefe told her.

She immediately went to the bathroom, showered, and changed. She carried Hope with her.
"Ready to fight." Sophie said, and Keefe burst into giggles.
"When are you not?" He asked, and Sophie rolled her eyes.
"Mr. Forkle and the Collective are already there, Alden, Della, Biana and Fitz are also heading over. Dex and his family are coming over too. Marella, Maruca and Linh are already there fighting with the Collective. Edaline and Grady told me to wake you up now. Wylie and his dad are also there."
"I'm not staying safe in bed when the world is collapsing!" Sophie exclaimed, Keefe held a crystal to the light, and Sophie took his hand, the light carrying her Keefe to the Last Battle. She hoped it would be the last.

And then they reached. Sophie gasped. Blood everywhere. The place reeked of blood. She could make out Marella, Maruca and Mr. Forkle fighting with Gethen. She wasn't surprised to see Mr. Forkle there, of course he wanted revenge for his brother's killer. Linh was against Trix, alone, and she had many scars, Rayni was with her. Tam was against a bunch of other members she didn't even know about, using shadowvapor to defeat them. She saw Fitz, Biana, and Dex fighting with Ruy. They had him.

"Sophie!" A voice snapped her out of her thoughts. Tam!

She rushed over to Tam, and saw him cornered by a bunch of members of the Neverseen.

"Tam! Coming!" She channeled her feelings and a red beam of light came out and struck one of the members swiftly, they fell unconscious. The rest ran away.

"Wait, what if you start inflicting on people, and then we can start killing people with blades after they're inflicted?" Tam shadow-whispered to her after the Neverseen had gone.
"Good idea, let's transmit the plan to everyone, but since the guilt would be to much for us, we could get the goblins to do the killing for us." Sophie said, and transmitted instructions to everyone.

But the guilt? Asked Mr. Forkle.
Killing will be take care of by the goblins, right, Sandor and Ro?
Sure, but I'm not a goblin, said Ro, Sandor rolled his eyes.
Definitely, Sophie, Sandor thought.
No, I will kill Gethen, Mr. Forkle mentally hissed, his voice full of rage,
Look, I get that you're angry but the guilt would break you, and I really don't want that... Sophie trailed off.
I can't lose you, She said, but she was too late, a broken body lay at Mr. Forkle's feet, and he looked shocked to see what he'd done, and Sophie finally understood who the broken body was.

Gethen was dead.
