Sophie Foster was so, so tired.

It was simple, the prophecy had told them. The Neverseen weren't the main villain, they were just a test.

Now the real villain, whatever it was... they would have to face it.

She was lying a mess in her bed. Everyone was downstairs, talking about how to face the evil. But Sophie wasn't interested. Keefe was gone. The person who had made her feel whole was gone. What was the point of fighting now? She should just let the world... fade. How could she live without Keefe? She just wanted to rest. It would be good if she could die and go and be with Keefe. While the people were making their dumb plans, Sophie had snuck away. And no one cared. Because she was a nobody. It was her fault Keefe had died.

What if she just let the guilt take her? It would be like death.

Just then, she heard everyone come upstairs to her room. They had probably realized she was gone. But she didn't want anyone right now. Still, she didn't have the energy to tell them to go away.

"Sophie, I know you're grieving but there's still a chance," Her adoptive mom, Edaline, said. She didn't have the energy to tell Edaline she was wrong.
Sophie was done fighting.
She couldn't do anything.
She was done.
It was time to accept the evil, whatever it was, had won.
Everyone was out of ideas.
Put it simply: They had lost.
And there was no point trying to win.
"But there is. Sophie, do not lose hope. Do not give up." A wheezy voice said.
She looked up and saw Mr. Forkle.
His eyes more desperate than she'd ever seen.
And then she remembered.
Jolie.
Calla.
Kenric.
Mr. Forkle.
Cyrah.
And most of all, Keefe.
The loses they'd faced.
The sacrafices they made.
They had to at least honour there sacrafice.
They had to at least try.
Even if they lost, it would be good knowing they tried.
So she mended her spirit.
Got out of bed.
And announced.
"We have to get to Elysian before the "destroyer" comes. Elysian told us a story,"

Gasps echoed at the moonlark's words. But she ignored it.

"I had a prophecy yesterday, saying we had to walk Elysian's Blazing Star fields. They said the light of the universe, the true light, not the one Elysian holds, is in the divine fields of flowers. We need to get to it, find it... before the destroyer does. I know Keefe's death brings grief... but we might not ever see him again if the world ends," As Sophie said that, her voice cracked and she turned away, wiping her eyes.

"Sophie... I know you miss Keefe. We'll get him back, I promise. We'll bring him back to the living world," said Linh, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"It's-It's fine. I will get him back. But in the meantime, our first step is to contact Elysian," Sophie said.

"Wait, can't Elysian contact us through our dreams? What if we try to contact her through her dreams? Or better yet, Sophie, can you try transmitting to Elysian?" asked Biana,
"I can try. But she hasn't taken her hoodie off, so I doubt it's possible. But I have an idea, Elysian knows us well enough to allow is in her fields. She might be angry, but she won't kill us. I know she's a goddess, but she's a kind one. Not like the human stories and legends," said Sophie.

"That's right," Mr. Forkle said quietly,
"So... what if we contact her tonight? The Neverseen... They're gone, dead. So... I might be able to reach out to her and contact her through dreams,"
"Sounds like a plan," Mr. Forkle said thoughtfully,

She didn't blame him for feeling that way. They'd lost three members of the Collective in the fight, and only Juline and Mr. Forkle were the only survivors. And they had to choose replacements- fast.

"What about Wylie? Was he at the battle?" Linh asked suddenly.
"He was but..." Mr. Forkle trailed off,
"But what?" Sophie prompted,
"He..." Mr. Forkle started
"And Prentice-" his voice cracked and he looked away, blinking hard.
"What?" She asked, reaching for his hand,
"I can't tell you," He whispered hoarsely,
"Please, you know I can't sleep like this," argued Sophie
He took a deep breath, steadying his voice.
"They...have not been found after the battle... it seems that they... disappeared," said Mr. Forkle, his voice shaky,
"Wait, WHAT?" She asked,
"You'd already faced too much with Keefe, Sophie," said Mr. Forkle,

A lump caught in her throat. She swallowed it back to say,

"You should've told me..." She said,

Linh, who was silent until now, drying tears, asked,

"Why didn't you tell me, though?" asked Linh,
"I'm sorry, Linh," He said,
She stayed silent, silent tears streaming down her cheeks.
"We'll find him," She said,
"Are you sure, what if he's-" Linh started, but was interrupted by a doorbell ring,

Everyone rushed downstairs. Edaline opened the door, and on the other side were all twelve Councillors, looking pale.

"We have found Wylie and Prentice," Oralie said,
