Everyone rushed downstairs. Edaline opened the door, and on the other side were all twelve Councillors, looking pale.

"We have found Wylie and Prentice," Oralie said,

...

As Oralie spoke, Councillor Clarette and Councillor Bronte carried two broken bodies- both painfully familiar.

Linh started sobbing. Biana paled and her body shook with shock. Fitz's face was pure shock and pale. Dex was ashen too and had collapsed to his knees in shock. Tam looked ready to topple over, and his eyes were shining. Marella was pale. Maruca was in shock and had thick tears streaming down her cheeks. Alden, Grady, Edaline, Della, Juline and Kesler wore miserable expressions. Mr. Forkle had tears in his eyes, but was obviously fighting them back, suffering in silence.

But Sophie?

She was numb. So, so numb. Wylie and Prentice didn't deserve this. None of it. And yet they had. The universe was so unfair.

"It... looks like they had been bruised when a building crashed. And... we were too late. But... they still have a chance," Bronte said, his voice hoarse.

"Are you sure? Wounds like this take time to heal- and may not heal at all," Alden said with thick tears running down his face,
"I know," said Oralie, reminding her that she'd been there when the other Mr. Forkle died.

Mr. Forkle must've noticed it too, and a sob slipped through his lips. He'd lost so much- too much, Sophie realized. First his brother, then Prentice, and then... this. Who knew if they would-

She cut herself off before she finished that thought.

"I'll hail Elwin," Sophie said, turning to grab her imparter when no one spoke. She most definitely wanted to scream, or yell or cry but she had to be strong for everyone else.

"We already hailed him- and Livvy, Sophie," Oralie said, grabbing her hand. Councillor-not-her-mom was winning prizes for Mom of the Year.

"Oh," She said,

Five- no two minutes later Elwin and Livvy arrived, and gasped as they saw what wounds Wylie and Prentice had suffered.

"These wounds will be a hard battle," said Livvy, and the two doctors leaped away with Prentice and Wylie without another word.

No one knew what to say after the traumatizing wounds they had seen. But Sophie knew she couldn't let this break her.

"Don't you need to choose other members for the Collective?" Sophie asked Mr. Forkle quietly,
"We do, and we should but..." Mr. Forkle's voice hitched, and he wiped his eyes,
"There's so much grief and... we have to wait. For now, Juline and I will take care of it." Mr. Forkle continued, his voice much steadier.

"I think it's time we rested. We all had a hard, long day and Sophie can contact Elysian while she's at it," Mr. Forkle said, and everyone agreed.

Sophie made it to her bedroom before the tears hit. And when they did, it was several hours before they stopped.

And with that, Sophie started telepathically trying to contact Elysian so that she would appear in her dreams.
...

"Hello, Sophie Foster," said Elysian,
"I see you have found the way to contact me," She said, tossing back her black hood for the first time. She was as stunning as her mother, mabye even more so. She had shining black hair, sapphire blue eyes, golden skin and purple shadows around her eyes.
"Wow," Sophie breathed,
"Anyways, what brings you hear?" Elysian asked,
"The Blazing Star fields," She whispered,

Elysian gasped. "How do you know?"
"Prophecy. I recieved a prophecy," said Sophie,
"You... are a prophet," She said to Sophie,
"Why is that a suprise?" Sophie asked,
"Prophets are incredibly rare among elves. In fact, you are probably the only prophet in the Elvin world," Elysian replied,
"Oh," was all Sohie could get out,
"Recite the prophecy," ordered Elysian, and Sophie couldn't say no to a goddess.

"Travel north, travel north,
Across the great fields of Elysian,
And you will find the field of the Blazing Star flowers,
The true evil will truly be gone without the flower,
No world will truly be perfect,

Secrets lie across fields,
Secrets to be discovered,
If the field of Stars is not discovered,
Time itself will end.

Search, search, search,
The Blazing Star must be found,
For it's petals are meant to heal, to fix,
Face a great evil with hands united,
Or none of the worlds will survive,

Beware of whom you trust,
For even the most trustworthy will turn out heartless and cruel,
Remember, if Blazing Star is not found,
The destroyer will arrive,
And time is running out." Sophie recited, seeing shock on Elysian's face,

"You realize their is a sacrafice?" Elysian asked,

Sophie let the words sink in before understanding dawned. She was sacrificing herself to save the world.

"Me?" Sophie asked,
"Yes, there is an ancient prophecy among our people, one you may have recited when you were younger:

'The girl with brown eyes of special few,
The gift of light and truth presented to you,
Her shining soul glows bright,
The Moonlark's soul shines with light,

The girl from two worlds shall unite two worlds,
Slowly, her great wings shall unfurl,
A great battle is coming, do not fear,
For the sound waves will reach your ears,

The enemy may see defeated but they are not gone,
Do not forget to connect hearts and be swift,
Upon wing, she shall take flight,
Sacrificing herself for what is right,'" Elysian finished, tears in her eyes.

Tears stung her eyes too. Mr. Forkle must have known about this. So did the rest of the Black Swan. This was betrayal.

"I will meet with you later, Moonlark," Elysian said, and with that, she disappeared, leaving Sophie to find her way back.
