Worst is yet to come

Chapter 13

Later that day, the three oldest members of the group had returned to the hospital to visit the maknaes and their leader again. It was strange how quickly they adapted to their new regime of driving on and off to the hospital two times a day and how well they've learned to find their way in the hospital. But despite getting used to the surroundings of the medical environment, they were hoping everyday that it would the last day of the hospital and that they could all go home soon.

Home, or more precisely their dorm, hadn't sound so comforting in their lives before. Don't get them wrong, the hotel they were staying in was very luxurious and the room they shared was bigger than their first dorm in Seoul, but no place could replace home. It had mostly to do with the fact that they were separated right now and it was hurting them every single moment of the day. Since the first day of their debut, they had been 7 most of the time with the rare exception of family holidays once a year, so being separated by force for days was causing a lot of stress to the ones who hadn't been hurt in the attack.

"When do you think we will be able to fly home, hyung?" Hoseok asked from the backseat of the van. Sejin was sitting next to the driver and turned around when he heard the question.

"I'm not sure. I asked the doctor this morning, but he advised us to wait until all of them are stable enough to fly for hours"

"What does he mean with stable enough? When they're all healed of their injuries? Namjoon's leg could take months to recover" Yoongi asked

"Please don't say we need to stay here for months!" the oldest member gasped. The manager quickly shook his head, but Seokjin continued to ramble "Maybe we should find a house to rent instead. I don't want them to stay in separate rooms, I need them together!!"

"I agree with hyung. We need everyone under one roof and with privacy. The hotel staff is nice, but I can't... I just can't trust them"

"Yeah how can we be sure that the cleaner is indeed working for the hotel and not secretly one of the kidnappers!" Hoseok added in their moment of distress.

"Guys, please listen to me for a second" Seokjin interrupted them before the three boys behind them could spiral down in a panic attack. "First of all: all attackers are taken care of by the police, so please don't worry about that right now. And we have extra bodyguards who check the hotel staff, but also the hospital staff at all times. Please don't think that you're not safe"

The manager stopped for a second and looked behind him to see where they were going, and when he noticed that they were nearing the hospital, he quickly finished the rest of the conversation. "And second: we're already looking into ways to safely travel with Namjoon, Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung. Jimin and Tae are maybe fit enough to travel with a commercial flight in a couple of days, but since it's expected that Namjoon and Jungkook need more time to recover, we are going to travel with a private plane so there's enough room for them to lay down during the flight"

"Good good" Hoseok breathed out in relief, just like the other two

"So we can leave in a couple of days?" Seokjin asked hopeful, but his enthusiasm immediately died down when he saw the manager looking a bit unsure.

"I'm sorry, but I think that will be too soon. Jungkook is still being sedated and Namjoon had a second surgery only yesterday... But once the doctor thinks they will be fit enough to fly, we will make sure that everything is ready so we can go home"

"Thank you hyung" the three said when they finally understood the situation a little better. Yes, they were very eager to go home, but the health of their youngsters always came first. But just hearing the plan of getting everyone back home was a comforting thought to hold on and it felt like some of the weight on their shoulders was being lifted for now.
