Namjoon felt lucky, happy and very grateful to be the Namjoon he was today. Namjoon of BTS to be exact, leader and member of one of the most successful K-pop group in the world. He didn't care much about the awards, the number of views on their YouTube videos or the money they were making. No, he loved to be a part of BTS because of his members who have over the years become family to him. Being with them was all he had every known since his early teens and at this point, he has lived with them more then he had lived with his parents, but lately even more so because of their fans. He loved ARMY from the very first day he met them, and he loved every new ARMY that joined them every passing day. And seeing so many fans today at the airport made his heart warm and do small happy jumps of excitement.
Being in the middle of the line allowed him to peacefully observe his brothers walking in front of him. It seemed that Seokjin and Taehyung were enjoying ARMY's presence as much as he did. The two made sure to wave at every single fan and give them their best looks soaking up the cheers and smiles coming their way, I mean they were the group's visuals after all. Namjoon didn't need to look too far behind him to know that Hoseok was also trying to give ARMY as much attention as possible. It was still a miracle how their sunshine member had so much energy left especially after doing back-to-back concerts and traveling all around the world, so Namjoon sometimes wondered if he was sneakily eating something special outside their strict diet that provided him with his never-ending energy.
The leader almost had to chuckle when he realized that Hoseok was currently walking next to Yoongi, who was the complete opposite. Their cat-like member had never liked big crowds, even though they contained ARMY only. It was just too loud, too invading and the oldest rapper always tried to get to security as fast as possible and it made him suddenly walk the fastest out of the seven. But everyone knew that Yoongi loved ARMY as much as the rest of the members, he simply showed in other ways like the many songs he had written for them over the years.
And lastly were Jimin and Jungkook. Namjoon felt a bit more worried about the last two members and he had already made a mental note that next time he needed to make sure that the Busan boys were either walking next to him or next to a bunch of bodyguards so he could stress a little less. The two were notorious for goofing around, especially when ARMY was around, and this wouldn't be the first time for them to get lost because of their behavior. But Namjoon didn't need to worry, because they were being surrounded by bodyguards and their manager and thankfully, they knew exactly which members needed to be watched more than others.
Yes, Namjoon felt happy and content. He smiled and waved at ARMY that were gathered left and right in the departure hall to see them off and were respectfully keeping their distance from them while they made their way towards the doors that said 'Security' on it. Despite all his happiness it was strange how one second, he was pleased due to his surroundings and the next his instincts were on high alert like the ground was slipping from under his feet...
A loud explosion followed by deafening silence. Namjoon felt his heart skip a beat when he tried to turn around to find the cause of it, but then a second bang was heard soon after.
And one scream later, chaos erupted in the departure hall as everyone turned into flight mode within a second. Hundreds of people started to run into every direction, and without realizing, Namjoon felt himself starting to run as well. However, instead of running towards the now panicked crowd, he ran towards where he had last seen Taehyung and Seokjin, because he couldn't see them anymore.
"Wha-" Namjoon muttered when his body was slammed from the right side. He had barely managed to stay on his feet, however the girl that had crashed into him wasn't able to hold her footing, but before he could help her, he was being pushed from behind. This time he couldn't help but fall on his hands and knees rather roughly, landing a little too hard because of the force. He instantly heard a snap in his wrist but due to the worry for his hyungs and dongsaengs, the pain didn't register in his mind. The number of panicked screams and people running around him were causing an immense adrenaline rush to pump through his veins, and once again his body was moving without him realizing.
