Worst is yet to come

Chapter 15

The next day didn't start off very promising. Even though Jimin and Taehyung had been declared fit enough to leave the hospital, it didn't mean that the boys were miraculously doing alright. Especially the younger of the two who was clearly still suffering from the massive blood loss despite the amount of blood transfusions he had received. The boy hadn't opened his eyes since he had fallen asleep next to Jungkook's hospital bed and despite sleeping for more than 12 hours, he still looked very tired when he woke up in the morning. But that wasn't the only concern right now; he also started to show signs of an incoming cold.

"Here are some tissues Tae" Hoseok said as he sat down next to the maknae who was propped up against some pillows against the headboard of the bed. A quiet 'thank you' was heard before Taehyung sneezed loudly in a few tissues.

"Is it only your nose that's bothering you, or do you also have a headache? Or is your throat hurting?" Seokjin asked standing next the bed, observing the second youngest as he grabbed some more tissues.

"Minor headache" Taehyung answered before his nose crunched up and sneezed again.

"You poor thing" Hoseok muttered sorrowfully and grabbed some tissues as well to clean up Taehyung's face a bit better when the younger one had missed a spot. "Let's eat a little bit before taking your medicine, okay?"

And when Taehyung nodded, Yoongi appeared next to him with some yogurt and his pills. "Let me get you some tea as well. You must drink enough otherwise you get dehydrated"

"Jimin, are you also developing symptoms?" Seokjin asked as he turned to the other maknae who sat in a chair close to the bed. Thankfully, Jimin shook his head, but the oldest one wasn't completely reassured yet when Taehyung sneezed once again. "That's good, but I want to keep it that way. Please don't get near Taehyung and you can sleep in the other bed upcoming days. I don't want to take any chances since you're still recovering"

"I'm doing fine hyung. My head is barely bothering me anymore" the 95-liner protested since he rather stayed at Taehyung's side, but when he noticed the worried look on the older one's faces, he knew better than to be a bother right now. They had enough worries about Taehyung already, and Jimin didn't want to add concerns about his own health on top of that. "But if that's what you want, I will sleep in the other bed"

"Thank you" Seokjin sighed relieved and gave the oldest maknae a grateful smile, but his smile quickly disappeared when Taehyung got stuck in a sneezing fit. "Gosh that nose of you isn't giving you any rest... Let me run to the pharmacy real quick to get you some cold medicine, and also more tissues because this will definitely not be enough if you keep this up"

"I will go with you" Yoongi said and gave the rest of the yogurt to Hoseok

Taehyung had managed to stay awake until Seokjin and Yoongi had returned from the pharmacy and after clearing his nose with nasal spray, he was glad to finally lay back down in bed again and get some much needed rest. The hyung line had decided that at least one of them would always stay with their second youngest in case he woke up again and needed help to sit up, but as hours passed quickly they were getting nervous about the hospital visit in the afternoon.

It was clear that Taehyung was in no shape to get out of bed right now since he slept more than he was awake, but the hyungs were also scared that the sick boy would pass on his sickness to the two hospitalized members. Yes, in theory Taehyung could still visit them if he wore a face mask and made sure to keep a safe distance from Namjoon and Jungkook without touching them, but all things considered it would be better if the 95-liner stayed in the hotel today. Something he should have done yesterday as well, and maybe if he had listened to his hyungs he wouldn't end up getting sick.
