Surprise Surprise

I woke up and Mariah was gone. She had class this morning or something like training I'm not really sure.. I wonder what Caroline's doing? I wonder if she has slept and cuddled someone else. I shook the thought from my head and walked over to my calendar. 13 more days till she gets home. I haven't talked to her for like three months. She probably doesn't even care to see me again. And I know she won't when she finds out about Mariah. I just shook my head.

"Bailey! Sadi!" I called and they came running. Man they are really smart. They learned their names quick. Every morning I wake up and do a few tricks and commands with them. I locked up Sadi in her kennel until it was her turn.

"Bailey sit." I said and she sat. "Now stay sitting." I grabbed a treat and threw it. And she just sat there. "Stay." I said. "Stay." Then I pointed at the treat. "Get it." She looked at me and still sat there. "Go get it." Then she ran and got it. I forgot to say go. Then I repeated it with Sadi. That was the main one I was teaching I was trying roll over, shake, sit pretty, play dead, and a couple other ones but I am just gonna work slower. The sit stay go get it will help them when I take them hunting.

A week later:
I did my tricks and commands with the dogs then I brought them outside and just did some outdoors work. I got a call.

"Hello."

"Hey baby." I replied. "What's up?" I asked. It was Mariah. I haven't asked her to be my girlfriend yet and I was gonna see if she was busy tonight and I'd take her out.

"We need to talk.." She said with tears in her eyes. She was sniffling and crying I concluded. My eyes got big what the heck?

"Okay when?" I asked.

"Tonight?"

"Alrighty."

I finished my chores then got clean clothes on and before I knew it Mariah was here. She must have been crying again.

"Baby what's wrong." I asked and hugged her. I grabbed her hand and brought her inside. She let go of my hand and went to the bathroom. I was very confused and unsure of what to do. I hate when girls cry. Especially my girl. And especially when they are upset. She came out of the bathroom and I had got her and I each water.

"What is it darlin'?" I asked her.

"Luke, I don't know how else to tell you this." She choked out. I took her hand.

"You can tell me anything I'm here for you always."

"You probably won't be when I tell you this." I shot my eyes straight to hers.

"Don't ever say that. You mean so much to me." When those words came out I knew I needed to ask. "And that's why I wanted to ask if you'd be my girlfriend." She stood up and let go of my hand.

"You don't understand Luke. When I tell you this you won't ever want to see me again!" She yelled which made me stand up.

"Then tell me. And I'll make the further decision. I mean is that what you want?" I said my eyes glossy.

"No Luke I don't want this to effect us."

"Just tell me what it is."

"Luke I'm Pregnant." She said her eyes deep in mine. I was wordless. And I got even more wordless when she told me it wasn't my baby.
