2 weeks later
I'm in the hospital right now because Mariah just had her baby. A little baby boy. She named him after me Bryan Jon Gabrielson. Hes 8pounds 4oz. Little dark haired baby he had little pudgy cheeks and Mariahs nose and eyes. I was holding him.
"So precious Mariah." I said.
"I know. I feel so blessed. It's amazing." She said in reply.
"Little baby Bry Bry. You so cute you know that." I said in a child voice. I'd love to be a father some day. Then The doctor came in.
"Are you the baby's father?" The doctor asked.
"No. I'm just a good friend of the mother." I responded.
"Well I need to take little Bryan make sure he's healthy and check everything." I handed him to her.
"Well Mar I gotta head out to the clinic for the pups and check on them.if you need anything tell me. Call or text. Bye." I said gave her a hug and walked out.
I pulled up to the clinic.
"Hello Marybeth."
"Hi Luke." She said. I usually come once or twice a week. So I just go back to the cages. I put leashes on them and brought them outside. And played with them alittle.
"Jarred?" I asked.
"Hi Luke." It was him. Caroline's boyfriend. He was training my dogs. I hated jarred deep inside for being with Caroline. But I'm still friends with him, for Caroline's sakes
"How are the dogs doin?" I asked.
"They Are great. Improving great. Well."
"Thanks for doing it. They look like they are doing great." I said as I latched their cage door.
"It's my job so anytime." He said. That made me just want to rolled my eyes. Then I started walking down the hall to leave.
"Hi Luke."
"Hello." It was Caroline. The second time I've seen her since the night she got home when I saw her at the bar.
"How are you Luke?" She asked.
"Pretty good." I Said. But really I wasn't. I need to talk to her.
"That's good."
"I need to talk to you. Would it be alright if we hung out tomorrow? Just as friends and talked?"
"I'd be up for it."
I think I smiled alittle. When I noticed I straightened it out. "Okay I can pick you up at 5? You sure it's alright with jarred to?"
"As long as I'm with a friend it's fine." She said.
I went home and cleaned up the house. And got ready for tomorrow.
