I tried every moment to get Steve to tell me more details about this surprise, but he was impenetrable when it came to giving up this information.

"Why can't I know just a little bit?"

He laughed at me. "You are so impatient. How can you possibly stand being pregnant right now," he chuckled as he got comfortable in his bed.

"Because I know what's happening here. What I don't know is what you have planned for me," I pouted.

"Fine. You wanna know something?"

"Yes," I asked eagerly.

"I'm taking you on a vacation."

"A vacation," I asked in shock. "Steve!

"What?"

"Like a small vacation? Like a weekend trip?"

He chuckled. "Oh no you're not getting anymore information outta me."

"Ugh. Okay when do we leave," I asked.

"In a week."

"A week?!"

"Yeah, soon you'll be too pregnant and can't fly anywhere."

"We're flying for this vacation?!"

"See. I already said too much. Not talking about this anymore." He said then rolled over in the bed.

"Oh no you don't," I laughed as I started trying to pull him back over.

I tugged and pulled at him but he wouldn't budge so I began tickling him.

"Oh no. Stop! Stop," he yelled grabbing my hands.

He took and deep breath then whispered. "I was gonna tackle you."

"Tackle the pregnant woman?"

"You and the baby were just gonna have to get it."

Just then Steve's phone started ringing. I looked over to see an unsaved number pop up on the screen. Steve glanced at it, but didn't grab it.

"Not gonna answer that?"

"Nope. Not important."

"Who's calling you this late?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. It's an unsaved number. I'm gonna go to the bathroom right quick."

He got out of the bed and headed to his bathroom. The phone stopped ringing and shortly after, a ding sounded, alerting that a text had been received.

I looked over at his phone again and read at the top.

Maybe: Michael

I gasped and immediately grabbed his phone and unlocked it. Steve didn't keep a passcode on his phone so the kids could have easy access to it when they needed. And honestly he really wasn't the kind of person to keep one, even though I had scolded him many times about it.

I opened up the text thread between he and Michael and read through it.

Steve: hey man just wanted to let you know Priscilla is doing great. The ultrasound went good and she's growing in schedule. She's perfect!

Michael: thanks man. I really appreciate the update.

That must've been at my last ultrasound appointment. I scrolled down to see Michael had messaged Steve asking about the birth.

Michael: Hey Steve. I know Christian's still probably in shock, but has she said anything about me being at the birth?

Steve: Not really. I've tried bringing it up and she shuts me down.
