to summarise how they spent their entire time at the beach, it included them running after each other and taking pictures of any small thing. the water wrestling that had went on between jisung and seungmin had continued until they got a winner. and the winner was seungmin and jisung was completely drenched from head to toe. which led to him going into a nearby public bathroom and changing his clothes into dry ones.
and then they all had sat down, starting a deep talk among themselves. any and whatever question they could ask each other was buried with them and that beach and would never be spoken again. they all sat around in a circle with a beer in their hands.
it turns out that everybody had some secrets that were way too personal but their friend group was the epitome of friendship. well, except a few who were involved in romantic love. they had soon decided they would confess something they didn't usually say out loud.
chan had confessed about him almost getting disqualified in a match once because he had wanted to protect his junior from getting attacked by his seniors. they were basically assaulting the junior behind the scenes, and chan had only wanted to expose this hierarchial system that was leading to people hitting other people. it seemed to work at some point, but not with some complications because people couldn't stand someone who wanted the righteous.
and then soon, minho had confessed on basically being dirt poor. which jisung already knew, and almost everybody, with how many part-time jobs he had taken up and dropped numerous times. but the new thing for jisung was, how he had expressed his feelings. it was true that being poor sucked but at the same time, his father couldn't be a better person. he had also talked about how taking up ballet might be the thing he sometimes regrets because of the price it costs his family. and how his father despised him because even while keeping a good brain for studying and nurturing it, he had went after his "stupid dreams".
the confession that shocked jisung the most was felix's. he would have never imagined for the boy to go through all of that and still be the most brightest person he has ever met. it had all started one day when fourteen-year-old felix had discovered the concept of homosexuality. and his parents had absolutely loathed the idea of their son ever being gay. being the typical homophobic parents, that jisung thought only existed in stories, they had tried to "convert" felix back to normal in the most horrible ways.
and all of them had shed a few tears, including felix, while listening to all that he had said. the torture of having to pretend that he didn't like boys and didn't like dressing up with gowns and skirts had went on for many years, that was until he had met jeongin. and his life had changed for the far better. he was eventually kicked out by his parents, but that was the best thing that had ever happened. and all the rest, was felix's recovery.
jisung and hyunjin were full on crying after felix was done with his pep talk. and they all had wasted a good 15 minutes to comfort them into stop crying. maybe felix wasn't the only empathetic one in the group because jisung had ended up living the life of felix in his head and imagined it, only to completely break down and ask felix how he had put up with all that and promising him that he will always be open to him whenever he needed someone.
after all the mess, seungmin was the next in the circle they had formed.
they all had awkwardly looked at seungmin who was trying to avoid their gazes and drawing circles on the sand. soon, he had explained that there was nothing that tragic happening in his life like the other three, jeongin had discreetly agreed. he was blessed with amazing parents who always supported his dreams. but he had ended up confessing something, that he had always felt invisible wherever he would stay. even in his own home and with his family, his needs were always overlooked and most of it was given to his elder sister and younger brother. and then he had very shyly added, that thanks to changbin, he felt a hundred times better about himself.
