Axel

It's been one week since she's been lying in the bed looking lifeless. Her parents came to visit her but still no response.

My eyes were bloodshot red from the crying. I held her cold hands in my warm ones I made sure the nurses wrapped her in a thick blanket.

I did not want to leave her side I wonder what's going on in her head. I failed to protect her.

If this is what being Alpha is like to possibly lose a mate I do not want it.

"When you wake up we can run off whatever you want to decide." I whispered kissing the palm of her cold hands.

A soft knock made me look back as I see a tired looking Amelia. She been coming back everyday to check on Emerald and I.

"I can watch over her. Axel you should go shower and grab something to eat it's been a week since you've last showered." She softly speaks to me as she fully walk into the room.

I tightened my grip onto her hand shaking my head no. "I rather miss meals, showers, and school if it meant not being by her side." I sternly say to her.

"Axel she wouldn't want you behaving this way. Emerald would want you to continue to live your normal life. She's strong I know she'll come back to us." Amelia voice cracked just a little as she softly squeezes my shoulder.

I felt guilty just the thought of leaving her side for one split second. "Fine but I'll be back." I nod my head towards her after saying that.

I wanted to wake her up, to be able to yank the wires off of her, also to see that beautiful smile of hers once more.

As I shut the door I can hear Amelia speaking to Emerald. "You've got a lucky one there Em. He loves you so much. I would love to find a love like that someday." She slightly giggles then the giggles became to soft sobs.

I felt my face becoming wet I quietly walked away. I walked into the huge kitchen seeing one of our Maids Natalia she's one of the older ladies.

"I'll make you a good ol' grill cheese sandwich for you. Some cold natural orange juice." She softly smiles at me as the walks over to the fridge.

"She's a strong one Axel. There's no need to stress your loosing weight." The corner of her eyes begin to form wrinkles.

"You are a good boy you don't deserve the way your father has been treating you." She explains as she pulls the bread out slowly slicing it.

"The reason I stood working for your family isn't because of the good pay." She slowly walks over grabbing the pieces of cheese and placing them on the bread.

Her gray hair is all pushed into a sleek bun. She threw a bit of butter onto the pan letting it melt in.

"I stood working to keep an eye on you. Everytime your father would place a hand on you I wanted to rip his head off of his shoulder." She flips the sandwich over as it begins to look a bit golden brown.

"Those times I would clean up your wounds even if I knew you were healing quickly. I've wanted to help with the healing process. I made sure the rest of the night he wouldn't bother you." She wipes her eyes a bit as she places the sandwich on a white plate.

"Im going to make sure when that girl wakes up. Your dad is not going to ruin your happiness you deserve every bit of happiness." She explains as she pours a cup of natural cold orange juice into a tall glass cup.

She places it infront of me as she slightly rubs my arm. I give a small smile as I quickly eat the food and gulp the orange juice.

"Slow down kiddo she isn't going anywhere." Natalia jokes as I run back over to the room emerald is in.

I see Amelia had fallen asleep holding onto Emerald hand. I didn't want to disturb them so I shut the door back close.

I see one of our good fighters Vincent running towards me. He had wipe the sweat off his forehead as brings me a pack of papers.

"Alpha here's the papers on everything you need to know about those Human hunters. They're more experienced than we would have thought. They create their own weapons, they have documented our weaknesses, but the weird thing about it." Vincent drags out.

"The reason why your mate was so easily taken down with the bullet. She is more tuned in with her werewolf side." Vincent begins to explain.

I'm still a bit confused on what Vincent is going on about. "The humans fear her Axel. They will do whatever they can to take her down. It's in those papers they've been studying her." I looked down at the papers to see pictures of us attached onto it.

"I'm still stuck on her being tapped into her werewolf side. She's needs human blood to become stronger." Vincent states.

"So you want my mate to kill humans so she can gain her strength to kill the human hunters?" I asked him but he facepalm himself as he shakes his head.

"Everyone of those little human hunters we find and kill. We can collect their blood in ziplock bags so she can grow her strength. We're going to find the source of those human hunters." Vincent scratches his jawline.

"And when we do their going be sorry that they stepped foot on our territory." He looks over at me expecting me to agree with what he said.

I did not want to begin war.

I want her to wake up to peace not disaster. I'll let her decide whether she wants to drink their blood or not. I'm not going to force her to do wrongfully things if she does not want to.

I'm not going to become like that bastard Greg.

Or become like my father.

I'm going to let her decide what she wants.
