Twenty-Three

Emerald

I added a fancy waves into my hair as I look at the black clip on the side of my hair. I continue to finish my makeup but today felt like school is finishing too fast.

I sigh as I slid the red lipstick across my plumped lips. I examined the dress love how the look of it I tied the heels around my ankle.

First time I'm wearing high heels.

I stood up as I glance myself in the mirror I love both sides of me. I don't view myself as a monster anymore. Whoever doesn't like it could honestly fall off a cliff.

My heels hit against the floor making a taping noise as I walk down the steps.

I lift my head up as my eyes examined Axel in his all black formal wear. He licked his bottom lip as he watches me slowly make my way towards him.

Gage cleaned up pretty good aswell he had a nice pink tux matching Amelia dress. Gage and Axel being themselves of course they didn't go with button up shirts. Axel has a regular black crew neck T-shirt under his blazer.

As for Gage he has a white crew neck under his blazer aswell. Axel pulls a corsage that is beautiful covered in Black roses. He puts on my wrist.

"Thank you." I whispered to him as leans over my ear. "Tonight I'm going to try to behave." His whisper created goosebumps throughout my body.

Gage had gave Amelia her pink roses corsage. "Wait wait wait pictures!" Natalia shouts out at us as she pulls out her camera.

"Wait can't forget about me!" My cousin pushes through the huge door. I smile brightly but it immediately drops as I stare at who is on his arm.

She wore a red tight dress that had lace all around. My cousin wore a matching tux as he confidently pulls her in the mansion.

"What is she doing here?" I asked him as Amelia looks over at me with concerns.

"She's my mate so she's here to go to prom with me." Benjamin pulls Lindsey into his arms.

Natalia awkwardly takes a picture as we all walk inside of the long black limo. "She tries anything with me I'll snap her pretty little head right off her shoulders." I angrily state as I sat down in the limo.

"Woah chill out Emerald that's your cousin mate now." Amelia looks at me with concern.

I mentally roll my eyes as I lean into Axel trying not to attack this girl. The ride to prom is pretty quiet.

The boys spoke among themselves as for the girls we just stood completely quiet.

The limo stops in front of the school as we watch everyone snapping pictures of eachother.

We all step out of the limo one by one. Axel and I walked pass the people who were snapping photos.

"Come here this is royalty!" The girl squeals behind the camera as Axel steps behind me holding me. We both look at the camera and flashes both of our best smiles.

Then we made our way inside of the school gymnasium. The prom it's decorated a starry night theme. There's streams of white everywhere, stars, and a whole bunch of little lights.

"Omg they're playing Ed Sheeran perfect!" Amelia screams as she pulls Gage to the dance floor.

"I'm not much of a dancer but for you I'll try anything." Axel says to me trying to sound romantic.

He rested his hands on my lower hip as I wrap my arms lazily around his shoulders. The lyrics hit really hard for Axel and I as we sway around the dance floor.

He twirls me around then pulls me back close to him as little laughters escape my lips. He whisper the lyrics in my ears as I lay my head on his shoulder.

"You are the best thing to ever happen to me Emerald." He says as I held onto my guardian angel to dear life.

"I've done a lot of bad things in life and I thank the moon goddess above everyday. That something good finally came out of all the bad." He gently whisper sweet things into my ear.

I look up at Axel as my eyes softens staring at him with love.

"No you are the best thing to happened to me. I hate who I was or what I was. Each day you cared for me it made me love myself more." I couldn't help but let the tears trail down my face.

"You made me realize that in every bad thing you could turn it into good." My voice cracks as he cups my face gently.

"You are special emerald. Til we grow old I will continuously let you know how beautiful you are each day." His words held power behind them.

His small stubble beard as I ran my finger past it. "Somebody is becoming a man." I suck my bottom lip in showing off my sharp small teeth.

"I've always been a man Stones." He jokes.

I cringe at the last name call out. "Hello,how is everyone?" Our classmate Destiny says loudly on the microphone as she stands on stage.

We all whistled to signal we were having a great time. "As you all know there's no prom without the prom king and queen!" She cheers the people on.

Axel and I clapped our hands as we stood on the sideline not caring if we win or lose.

"Alright can I have little drum roll please." She says to the Dj as he plays a sound affect on his end.

"The prom queen is." She drags out as I mentally roll my eyes at the dramatic effects.

"IS EMERALD STONE!" She screams as the whole crowd jumps up in excitement. I wanted to drown myself right about now.

I drag my feet across the floor as I walk up the stage with a fake smile plastered on my face. I look at the tiara in horror as I seen the pink small diamonds on the tiara.

"You guys couldn't put just a little black in there." I whisper to destiny as she shakes her head.

"Just take the crown." She whispers back as she softly places it on my head.

I yawn hoping I don't have to do some stupid dance.

"The prom king is we all know whose this is THE HOTTEST BOY IN CLOUD VALLEY HIGH AXEL WRIGHT!" She shouts as all the girls scream crazy for Axel.

He walks smoothly on stage as they place his crown on his head. Show off.

"Now for the King and Queen dance." Destiny backs away as Axel leads me to the dance floor. I hate mushy romantic things but for some reason I'm finding to like it with Axel.

Where's Amelia and Gage?!
