FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH — 2007

TODAY'S THE DAY I finish, Clara thought to herself. The realization was starting to hurt.

She enjoyed Logan's company so much...And he was probably going to leave sometime in the next two days. There was no reason for him to stay here once Clara finished on Scott's motorcycle.

She laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling. Maybe she could convince him somehow, to stay.

Maybe she could offer him a job.

The thought made her prop herself up on her elbows. Maybe she could...She wondered if he would take it. Maybe...He seemed to like her enough. Or so she hoped.

She sat up in bed, rubbing her face. I like him too much, Clara thought to herself, and groaned. He was grieving over his friend, there was no way he could feel the same.

She needed to get up and out of bed, start her day. She didn't want to think about the fact that Logan was going to be leaving soon. They'd never talked about it since he'd signed the paperwork nearly two weeks ago.

Clara pulled her cell phone off of her nightstand, unplugging it from its charger. There was finally another text from Kiera.

I was thinking November, before the kids go on their winter break. I'll drive up and come stay for a day or two? What do you think?

"Again with her long texts," Clara groaned to herself. She struggled to text back: Nov sounds good. 2 days, yeah?

Clara decided to get out of bed, and face the day. Better to do it now than keep putting it off, later and later. She walked over to her kitchen, deciding to cook herself a big breakfast. She deserved it, for all of her hard work on this motorcycle.

It had been fun fixing it up, she thought to herself as she cooked her eggs. I just wish I got more projects like that more often.

Soon after, Clara sat down at her table, eating her breakfast. Out her window, she could also see into the small alleyway next to her apartment and shop. Down below was the hatch, and she took a moment for herself.

It had been a very long time since she had lived on her on. She'd fallen into a monotonous routine after moving here, but it felt as though Logan had woken her up. She would think about him for a long time, she realized. He wasn't just a passing somebody, he would live in her mind for a long time.

Lots of people were like that. From time to time, she even thought about George, Jamie's father. Although she didn't really like to. She avoided the topic with everyone she knew, even Kiera didn't know that much about him. It helped that she never knew him.

Her thoughts then wandered to Bucky. What was he doing? Did he...Did he miss her, at all?

The last time she had seen him, eleven years before, he'd been at a distance, watching her leave HYDRA's compound with Peggy. But their closest interaction before that had been their last fight, and he was...Win was very different, more angry than he usually was around her. Sure, he hated her, but they had formed some sort of friendship before her kidnapping.

Bucky, though...She hoped he was okay. She didn't know if she would ever see him again. It had already been eleven years now, and he hadn't ever shown up. Maybe he never would.

The thought left her conflicted. On one hand, she had loved him. She did miss him every now and then. But at the same time, was it really killing her that he was...Gone, so to speak?

Clara shook her head, dispelling the gloomy thoughts from her head. She had a motorcycle to finish and a friend to hang out with for possibly the last time.
