FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH — 2007

MORE TIME PASSED, and Clara and Logan grew closer and closer.

Too many mornings, they would wake up wrapped up in each other's arms. They'd untangle with some chuckles and blushes, but...They were beginning to sleep through the night. There weren't as many nightmares between the two of them.

But this morning, Logan woke up more excited than usual. He volunteered to make breakfast for the two of them, and seemed antsy to get down to the garage. They had two cars they were working on, but Clara couldn't figure out why he was so...Excited today.

But she happily accepted his eggs and toast, relishing him cooking for her. The smiles he kept sneakily giving her were making her heart race when she caught them, and she began to grow excited for whatever it was he was excited for, too.

After they finished their breakfast, he ushered her into her office to work on a TV, and he went into the garage to wait.

Wait for the mailman to arrive.

Hours later, Logan was too jittery to work on the current car they had in anymore. It was one of the waitress' car, from the diner down the road.

What exactly was Logan so excited about? Well, it was a new weapon for Clara. He'd gotten in contact with Charles a few days after he had broken Clara's old sword, and had been working with him to find a new sword for her. And it was finally coming today.

Finally, the mailman came up to the garage, and Logan signed off on the package. He was practically shaking as he closed the garage, and then came into the hallway. He could hear TV static coming from Clara's office, and he followed it.

He knocked softly on the door so he wouldn't startle her, and then opened the door slowly. Clara looked up slowly from the TV she'd been working on, and said, "Oh, hi."

"Hey," Logan breathlessly replied, and then came into the office, holding the box close to his side. "I, uh, have something for you."

"Something for me?" Clara asked, sitting up in her chair. "I assume it's in that box?"

He could only nod in response, handing the box to her, and then moved the TV off the desk. "Go ahead," He quietly said, "open it."

Smiling softly to herself, Clara laid the box down on the desk. It was flat, and long, and part of her thought that maybe...Maybe it was a new sword.

She was silent as she opened the box, and then gasped when she got through all the tissue paper and bubble wrap. "A new sword?" Clara asked, looking up at him, teary eyed.

"Not just a new sword," Logan replied, "pick it up. Look at it a bit closer."

She lifted it carefully out of the box, and then realized why he said look at it closer. She lifted her left hand up, and split the sword in half, gasping as she looked at them, lifted in front of her.

"I think it's time you learn how to actually fight," Logan said, smiling down at her. "And I think it's time you became a dual sword wielder."

Clara was speechless as she stood up, weighing them in her hands, and then shook her body out a little bit, and brought them up to her face to look at closer. "These are incredible," She breathed, and then looked at him. "Why?"

"I told you I would take care of it," He replied simply. "And think of it as an early Christmas present. Since we'll be with your family during it."

Shaking her head, she carefully set the swords back in the box, and rounded the desk, hugging him. "Thank you so much," She said, and he hugged her back, resting his cheek on the top of her head. "I love them."
