“I hope everything is clear?” I asked my three men, handing them the file.
“Yes, sir,” one of them replied, while the others nodded.
As we were preparing to leave for Pune, I thought about reviewing the files and discussing them once more with my men so that the meeting would go smoothly.
“Let’s go,” I ordered, standing up.
Just as I rose, a knock echoed on the door, making me wonder who it could be.
“Come in,” I instructed, and as the person entered, my gaze softened.
It was Roshini, standing there with a drink trolley.
“Sir, drink.” She offered, and I stared at her, raising my eyebrows.
When did I order a drink?
I looked at her and found her already staring at me. I smirked before nodding, understanding her gaze.
“Yes, serve me. The rest of you can leave. I’ll join you after having a drink.” I instructed them, emphasizing the double meaning of the word “drink” as I glanced at her.
She lowered her gaze, biting her lips, while others left.
She looked at me as I uttered, “So?”
“The manager has asked me to look after your needs,” she replied.
“Oh... Just mine?” I smirked.
“On this floor, only me and my friend are assigned for the night shift. And she’s a little softy... so I thought to handle you. I’m good at handling problems, you know.” She responded, rolling her tongue inside her mouth, making my smirk widen.
Man, she’s got some serious guts to talk to me like that. If anyone else were in her place, they would’ve been long gone by now. But she... she’s just different.
