Felix’s POV:

It had been a couple of months now since the whole incident had happened and we were needed at court tomorrow for Jennie’s, Lisa’s, and BM’s sentencing. We were all nervous, and we were doing everything to take our minds off it.

Me, Changbin, Jungwon, and my dad had just arrived at the park to have a picnic with our friends and so walked up to them sat on a blanket. They immediately greeted us as Changbin pushed my dad in his wheelchair and I was carrying Jungwon. We all sat down as the conversations started.

“How’s your dad doing Lix?” Chan asked. I looked over to the said man who was talking to Jisung and smiled.

“He’s much better. His physical therapy is going well, and he can stand up now, he just can’t do anything past that.” I replied, as I watched him conversing with my friends.

“Is it weird to have him at your place?” he then asked.

“I mean I guess I’m still not used to the new him, but I am still so grateful that he’s changed. He's great with Jungwon too.” I said as I looked down at my little boy who had only just woken up after being in the car for so long.

“And how are you and Changbin doing?”

“We’re great, we’re just really nervous for tomorrow,” I said, turning more towards Chan, “but he’s been acting a little weird. I was in the shower earlier and when I came into the bedroom, he was like ‘shit’ and then hid something in his trousers.”

Chan turned his head slightly in confusion before he smiled.

“I’m sure it’s nothing Lix, don’t worry about it.” I just nodded my head.

It was quiet for some time as I watched Jungwon trying to stand up by himself, and when he finally did, I held my breath. The others were still talking as Jungwon slowly put one of his feet in front of the other. When he did, he continued his movements, making his way slowly to my dad. When he walked past Changbin, he gasped. Everyone went silent as Jungwon walked past them all, and finally, he fell into my dad’s arms. I stood up and let out a small scream, as I jumped up and down in excitement.

“Jungwon~ my baby! You did it!” I said, making my way to my baby, picking him up and throwing him in the air slightly. He laughed at my actions before I hugged him close, kissing him all over his face.

“I think this calls for a toast!” my dad said, as I sat back down. We all listened carefully before he spoke again.

“I just want to thank you all for allowing me into your lives. I know I wasn’t at all the best father, but I will try my best to prove that I have changed. I want nothing more than to be a part of this family that you guys have, and I am so glad that my son has met you guys. I honestly have never seen him smile this much in my life and I am so happy that it’s because of you guys. I love you all like you are my own kids, and I know I’ve only been back for a couple of months, but I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life taking care of you all.”

We all smiled at him as tears brimmed at my eyes. He gave me a quick wink before Chan stood up.

“I don’t really know how to follow from that but here we go. Matthew, I know I was hard on you when I first saw you and I am so sorry for that. When Changbin told me that you and Felix had sorted everything, I was thinking that there was no way someone could just easily forgive someone for doing that, but when this little bitch Minho said that I wasn’t much different, although it pained me, I knew he was right. I’ve known you for a few months now, and I’ve realised that even though after everything you put Felix through, you’ve done everything to be the best dad he could ever have. And I know I’m like the dad of the friend group, and I love it, but I would like to pass that title to you.”
