The campfire was roaring smoothly, illuminating the darkening night sky. It crackled and hissed, throwing embers into the air like tiny sparks. The scent of burning wood filled the air, mingling with the smell of smoke and the pungent aroma of a nearby river. The flames were bright enough to light up Lucky's face, the smoke crawling high into the air and dissipating among the stars.

She took a deep breath, feeling the tension in her shoulders release. The warmth from the fire radiated through her skin, making her feel cozy and relaxed. The cool night air mixing with the warmth of the fire made her feel content. She watched the flames dance, casting shadows on the surrounding trees, and smiled.

The five of them had decided that it was far too dark for Icarus to pull a carriage, so they had stopped for the night and set up camp. Tiffin had made a fire, Jester and Lenix had helped set up the sleeping area, and Lumi had made sure that she had packed everything the group would need. The sounds of the night creatures had begun to make themselves known, filling the forest with their chirps and hoots and howls. The trees creaked in the wind, their leaves rustling softly, and the river gurgled in the background. Owls and coyotes called to each other in the distance, their voices echoing through the dark woods.

Jester and Lenix were off arguing over whatever silly thing they disagreed on, Lumi was still at the carriage peeking into all the bags to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything, and Lucky was sitting by the fire, enjoying the warmth. Tiffin sat across her, polishing her sword with a rag, making sure every inch was spotless. Lucky watched her work in such a way that was almost mechanical, her hands moving in fluid motions as she applied the polish to her blade. It was clear that she knew exactly what she was doing.

"You have a beautiful sword, Tiffin," Lucky said, leaning forward to get a closer look at it. "Who was the blacksmith who forged it?"

"My great-great grandfather made it," she said curtly, not bothering to look up from her sword. "He was a legendary swordsman who fought in the Elven-Demon war and died in battle. That's all you need to know."

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry," Lucky said with a gentle chuckle. "It is very beautiful. You must be very proud."

"You could say that," Tiffin said, still not looking up from her sword. Her tone was neutral, but Lucky could tell that she didn't want to talk about it anymore.

Lucky sighed softly, leaning back on the log she was sitting on. "You are a very interesting individual, Miss Grant. Very closed off and mysterious, but in a good way. It's refreshing."

Tiffin glanced up at her, arching a brow. "What do you mean?"

"Well, it's just that most people I've met in my life are either boring or far too exuberant to even hold up a conversation. But you...you're different. You have an air of mystery around you."

Tiffin scoffed, returning to polishing her sword. "I'm not mysterious, Miss Kaart. I'm just a simple bounty hunter, nothing more, nothing less."

"Oh, well, that's simply not true." Lucky said with a shake of her head. "Your job does not define who you are as a person. That would make the world a very boring place, don't you think?"
