Castilion was a very diverse village, far different from Aurilon. It was home to Elves, Demons, Dwarves, Kemonomimis, and everything in between. And unlike most Elven towns and villages, there was no prejudice or discrimination here. The races lived together, almost in harmony. Of course, there were scuffles and arguments now and then, but nothing serious. The village was built at the base of a towering mountain range, surrounded by lush forests and sparkling streams. The air was clean, the soil fertile, and the people were content.
Not only was Castilion vastly accepting, but it was also known all across Token as having the best restaurants with the most delicious and exotic food. Each race had its own unique culinary specialties, and they all came together to create a melting pot of flavors unlike anything else. The village market was bustling with activity every day, as merchants from near and far set up their stalls to sell their wares. From handcrafted pottery and intricate jewelry to freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, there was something for everyone. The village square was the heart of the community, where festivals and celebrations were held, and where people gathered to share stories and songs.
Due to the restaurants being so well known across Token, many tourists would flock to Castilion, eager to try the exotic cuisine.
Which was part of the reason why Lumi and her group decided to take a break in Castilion, primarily for the food.
"I'm ordering everything on this menu, it's been too long since I've actually eaten a decent meal." Lumi said firmly as she stared at the menu page before her.
The group had traveled for a solid day without any breaks, so it was Tiffin who had finally decided that they could take a break and get some food. They managed to cram all seven of them into a booth with a large table, although Lumi had to sit on Lucky's lap since there wasn't enough room for her legs under the table. Tiffin sat next to Sarviline, while Damien, Lenix, and Jester were squished on one side. The waitress had already brought out their drinks: iced tea for Tiffin and Lucky, hot tea for Lumi, strawberry lemonade for Sarviline, water for Damien, and Lenix managed to beg his way into an Olive Martini. Jester, however, was limited to water, due to her already crazy energy levels.
"Finally. I was worried we would never reach civilization." Lucky chuckled lightly. "I could definitely use a nice break from travel."
"Don't get too comfortable," Tiffin warned, flipping through her menu. "We have to keep moving as soon as we're finished eating."
"Such a bummer!" Jester whined, leaning back in her chair until nearly her entire body was on the ground. "Let's just stay here forever. It smells sooooo good!"
"It does smell great in here!" Lumi agreed, closing her menu as she looked around the restaurant with wonder in her eyes. "There's so many different kinds of foods on this menu. I mean, the fact that this place is open to literally everyone is amazing! Demons and Kemonomimis and Elves and Dwarves all sitting and eating together!"
"I know. Isn't it great?" Sarviline said, crossing her arms over her chest. "I think its pretty great that there's somewhere these two Demons can go and not be harassed just because they're different from the rest of us." She glanced over at Lenix and Jester. "Not that you're not different in other ways..."
"Well, it's not like I can really help looking the way I do." Lenix grumbled, absently chewing on a piece of ice.
Damien nodded, glancing around at the other patrons. "Yeah, it's pretty cool. I mean, it's not common where I come from, so it's nice to see a place like this."
"Hey, can you guys order me the meatiest thing on the menu? I'm talking, like, a ton of meat." Jester said, leaning on the table with her chin resting in her hands. "Like, an entire cow or something. I'm starving!"
