Roar considered herself an expert hunter. She had spent years perfecting her skills and learning how to track down prey without being seen or heard until it was too late. She could blend into any environment, making herself completely invisible while moving through the shadows effortlessly. The High Lord praised her daily for her prowess in battle and stealth, and she was often tasked with hunting down Elves who were caught trespassing on the Vampire territory. She enjoyed the hunt and did not hesitate to kill on sight when ordered by her superiors. Oftentimes, she would hunt just for the joy of making Elves bleed in her grasp, feeling the fear radiating off of them in waves. It excited her knowing that they knew what was happening to them.

Currently, Roar was on a mission to retrieve the runaway Demons from the small town of Mirstone, which was located in the far east of the Vampire territory. She had traveled there numerous times before when hunting down other trespassing Elves or Demons who wandered too far into their domain. However, this was her first time seeking out Demons specifically since they tended to stay close to Bellcrest. Mirstone itself was one of the most magic-infested Elven villages in the Kingdom, with nearly every Elf having some form of magical ability, primarily nature-based. Roar never liked the Elves much...they tasted bitter and sour and she would prefer a deer over their blood any day of the week.

As she approached the small town, she noticed that it was unusually quiet, even for Mirstone. Her heels clicking against the cobblestone streets echoed loudly in the otherwise silent environment. She paused at an intersection, glancing around curiously for any sign of life.

Strange, she thought, raising an eyebrow. What happened here?

Stepping further into the town, she noticed a crew of working Elves repairing multiple destroyed buildings from an unknown source of attack. Something had happened recently here that was powerful enough to completely demolish several homes and businesses all at once. Wood splinters and glass shards were scattered across the street, littering the ground with debris. Several Elves were using their magic to fix the damage, creating new structures out of pure energy alone. She stopped and watched for a few seconds, finding amusement in the way the Elves struggled to rebuild their damaged town. She wondered briefly if this might have been the work of the Demons she was searching for...but they were supposedly young, so they couldn't have done this much damage, could they?

She huffed and pulled her hood further over her face as she continued deeper into town. She couldn't allow herself to be distracted by the Elves' suffering. She had a job to do, and she needed to stay focused on that. The High Lord had specifically told her that failure would result in death, but luckily for her, she had never failed a mission before, and she didn't intend to start now.

She glanced up at the sun shining high overhead and narrowed her eyes, sending the sun the hardest glare she could. She would have preferred to complete this mission during the night, where she could travel more freely and wouldn't be blinded by sunlight constantly, and burned to death, but apparently it was important that she locate the Demons immediately and get rid of them as soon as possible. She didn't care about why; she just wanted to get her job done quickly and efficiently.
