"Stand before me." Reese ordered, her voice echoing throughout the throne room.
Roar shoved Musket forward roughly, causing the Kitsune to stumble slightly before regaining her balance. Musket glared at Roar from over her shoulder before turning back. As her gaze met Reese's, Musket felt a shiver run down her spine. The Demon Queen sat upon a throne of dark bronze that seemed to absorb the light around it, her presence commanding and formidable. Musket could feel the weight of Reese's gaze, as if she were being scrutinized by a predator. She forced herself to remain calm, knowing that showing weakness would be a fatal mistake in this place.
Reese looked down at Musket with an unreadable expression on her face. "Roar here informs me that you helped the Demons that I am looking for. You are going to tell me where they are, where they're going, and what their plans are...or else I will personally slit your throat right now and feed you to the wolves outside."
Musket swallowed hard, clenching her hands into fists at her sides. Her large tail twitched behind her nervously, betraying her true feelings.
"I don't know anything," Musket lied through gritted teeth. "I have no idea where they are or what they're doing."
Roar kicked the back of Musket's knee, causing her to fall to the ground with a grunt. Musket glared up at Roar, who simply smiled innocently back at her.
"Don't lie to me, Kemonomimi," Reese warned sternly. "I'm not a patient woman."
Musket hesitated for a moment before shaking her head stubbornly. "I'm not telling you anything."
Reese narrowed her eyes at Musket, her expression darkening. "You should know what I am capable of. Disobedience is not tolerated in my kingdom. I am aware that foxes are stubborn creatures...but I am quite persistent myself."
Musket narrowed her eyes, her ears twitching nervously. "You're just gonna kill 'em, aren't you? Your damn plan to take over Token or somethin'? You won't succeed. I can promise you that."
Reese leaned back in her throne and studied Musket carefully for a few moments. "That is none of your concern. However, it does interest me that you are willing to die for them...perhaps there is something more to this than meets the eye."
Musket bristled, her fur standing on end as she glared angrily at Reese. "Fuck you."
Roar smirked at Musket and grabbed the Kitsune by the neck, lifting her into the air effortlessly. Musket struggled against Roar's grasp, growling as she tried to pry the Vampire's fingers away from her throat.
"Just give the word, ma'am. I'll turn her into a nice soup for our dinner tonight." Roar said calmly, squeezing Musket's neck tighter.
Musket had always been stubborn. Since she was a little kit, she had refused to obey authority. She constantly disobeyed her parents and got into fights with other Kitsune around the village. She had never listened to anyone other than herself, and had never given a damn what anyone else thought about her. All she wanted to do was do what she wanted, not what others wanted her to do. She got by on her sly con skills and attractive body, a life she enjoyed living without any regrets. But now...things were different. She wasn't sure what she should do; protect her new friends or rat them out to save her own skin.
