Chapter 39 - Adoption

Tom had been out his wheelchair and he was going back to work the next day. When he went downstairs he saw Charlotte sitting on the sofa "what's wrong?" Charlotte smiled "I'm fine" Tom nodded "you sure?" Charlotte nodded "yes I'm sure" Tom kissed her and left the living room.

Chloe sat on the kitchen counter while Max was upstairs and the girls were still asleep. Max came down and saw Chloe sitting on the kitchen counter "we need to talk" Chloe looked up "sounds serious" Max smirked "not really" Chloe grinned "hit me" Max pulled her towards him "I want us to have another child" Chloe was shocked "you want what?" Max smirked "another child" Chloe paled "you kidding me?" Max shook his head "why would I be?" Chloe shrugged "you could be drunk. Are you?" Max shook his head again "no" Chloe nodded "Max, I love what we have" Max began kissing Chloe's neck "you don't make saying no easy do you?" Max smirked "indeed".

Charlotte had recently been told that she was infertile, she hated that. Charlotte had always wanted a big family but now she wasn't so sure that she would get that and she had the feeling that Tom wouldn't want her anymore. She had decided to take a trip down to the children's home and see how about adopting, "Tom, I'm off out" Tom came into the hallway with TJ "where you off too?" Charlotte smiled "somewhere" Tom nodded and Charlotte left.

Chloe couldn't believe that Max wanted another kid, it was easy for him, all he had to do was get her pregnant but she would be the one who went through the months of morning sickness, the pain of giving birth. As much as Chloe loved her two girls she didn't know if she wanted anymore kids. Aubree was out in the garden with Isla and Max was sitting in the living room, seeing that Aubree and Isla were fine Chloe walked into the living room "what made you want another kid?" Max looked up from the laptop "because you're an amazing mother" Chloe smiled "thanks but why another kid? We have two" Max smiled "you're my wife and I love you and I want us to have anothrer child" Chloe smiled "I'll think about it" Max nodded and kissed her, they pulled apart to Isla crying "mama" Chloe stood from the sofa and walked outside but she couldn't see Aubree "Aubree? Aubree where are you?" Max came out "what's going on?" Chloe turned to him "Aubree's gone" Max frowned "gone where?" Chloe shrugged and she saw Isla walking towards the back gate which was open "Isla come here".

Chloe took Isla in the house and Max went out the back gate to look for Aubree "daddy" Max saw Aubree with Adam Fleet so he ran over "get away from my daughter" Adam smirked "she wants to go on a little adventure" Aubree was petrified "daddy I want mummy" Adam scoffed "your mummy doesn't love you" Aubree started crying "I suggest you get your hands off my daughter" Adam, who had Aubree in his arms took a step towards Max "if I don't?" Max smirked "then you'll regret it". Max took Aubree from Adam "go inside" Aubree ran into the house "I will get that girl away from you, I guarantee it".

Charlotte was at the Children's Home and she had met some of the children. They were cute, Charlotte had been told that she needed to pass some tests to see if she qualified for adoption. She left the building and saw two people with a little boy who looked the same age as Taitlyn "get in there now!" Charlotte frowned and walked over to them "is there a problem?" The woman looked up "this little brat. He can't behave" Charlotte looked at the the little boy "what's your name?" The little boy looked scared "Jacob" Charlotte smiled "I'm Charlotte, how old are you?" Jacob smiled "three" Charlotte grinned "that's the same age as my little girl, have you been naughty?" Jacob frowned "I only asked for some water and they said I was naughty" Charlotte looked at the parents "if you're placing him in care, I'll adopt him" Jacob's parents thought for a while before nodding "you can take him, we never wanted him to begin with" Charlotte glared "you horrid ass, you don't deserve any kids". Charlotte puck Jacob up and went back inside.

Chloe was panicking that Adam had managed to take Aubree from the back garden. Max had spoken to the Police who were coming over to talk to Aubree "Chloe, the police will be here shortly" Chloe nodded and she looked at Aubree who looked scared "mummy he said you don't love me" Chloe sat with Aubree "he was wrong, I do love you" Aubree nodded "does daddy?" Chloe nodded "yeah, he does".

Charlotte had been given permission to take Jacob home with her instead of him being placed in the care system. When she pulled up outside the house she noticed he looked scared "don't be scared sweetie, my kids are nice and when you meet Chloe and her two girls you'll love them" Jacob smiled "okay". Charlotte took Jacob into the house and Taitlyn came in "mummy!" Charlotte smiled "hey Tails" Taitlyn smiled at Jacob "are you my new friend?" Jacob didn't know what to say so Charlotte spoke "Jacob might be living with us" Taitlyn grinned "yay!".

The Police had spoken with Aubree and Chloe and Max and they had said they would pull Adam in for questioning but until they could find him then to keep a close eye on Aubree. When the police had gone Chloe locked the front door and she went to bolt the back gate "he won't come back" Chloe turned to Max "he might though and that's not something I'm willing too risk" Max  sighed and after Chloe locked the gate he took her inside.

Tom was more than happy to meet Jacob and to adopt him but he knew there had to be a reason as to why Charlotte would adopt. Once the four kids had been taken to bed Charlotte sat with Tom on the sofa "what's going on? Why choose adoption?" Charlotte sighed "I went to the Doctor the other day and he said I was infertile, I wanted to know what the chances were of me getting pregnant again were" Tom frowned "infertile?" Charlotte nodded "I'm so sorry Tom" Tom watched as Charlotte broke down crying "I can't even give you anymore kids, you're gonna leave me for sure" Tom got his phone and text Chloe to come over with Max.

Chloe and Max pulled up outside Charlotte and Tom's "did Tom say what was wrong with Charlotte?" Chloe shook her head "no, just that she was upset" Max nodded. Entering the house Chloe walked into the living room and saw Charlotte in hysterics on the sofa "Charl, what happened hon?" Charlotte looked up "I-I can't have anymore kids, I'm infertile" Chloe was shocked "Charl, I'm so sorry" Chloe noticed Taitlyn and a little boy with blonde hair standing in the doorway next to Aubree "who's that?" Charlotte smiled "Jacob, me and Tom are adopting him" Chloe grinned "that's well cute" Charlotte nodded and smiled through her tears "Jacob, this is Chloe who I told you about earlier and her two little girls Aubree and Isla and Chloe's husband Max" Chloe grinned at Jacob "you're so cute" Jacob smiled "thank you" Chloe gushed "aw, I love him already" Charlotte smiled.

An hour later Chloe and Max left with the girls and Tom took Jacob and Taitlyn back to bed "you ready to head up?" Charlotte nodded "yeah, Tom, you are okay with us adopting Jacob right?" Tom nodded "of course, I can teach him and TJ football" Charlotte grinned "I love you Tom Clarkson" "I love you too" Tom and Charlotte briefly kissed and they went up to bed both falling asleep instantly.

Max took the girls to bed and Chloe went for a shower. When she was done she saw Max sitting in bed "were they okay?" Max nodded "they were fine" Chloe smiled and she climbed into bed next to Max "I think Charlotte and Tom adopting is cute" Max smirked "indeed" Chloe grinned "I might consider another baby" Max put his stuff down "better get practising then" Chloe rolled her eyes as Max began kissing her. A few hours later they both fell asleep.
