*TW: Smut*
Gerard smiled as he watched Frankie scurry around his enclosure. "You're such a good boy, Frankie," he cooed, reaching out to stroke the lizard's scales gently and Frankie nuzzled against his hand.
With each passing day, Gerard had made a conscious effort to resist the allure of the drugs that lay temptingly before him. Instead, he had immersed himself in caring for Frankie.
"I'm proud of us, Frankie," Gerard whispered. "We've made it through another week without giving in." He smiled. "And I have a feeling things are only going to get better from here."
Gerard chuckled softly as he watched Frankie scamper around. "Alright, little guy, time for your dinner," Gerard said, reaching for the bowl of live crickets he had prepared.
As Frankie eagerly gobbled up his meal, Gerard couldn't help but feel a sense of paternal pride wash over him. "That's it, Mum's proud of you," he said, using the nickname he had affectionately given to Frankie.
Suddenly, a thought crossed Gerard's mind, and he couldn't help but chuckle at the idea. "You know what, Frankie? You're like my son, and that would make Frank... your daddy!" he exclaimed, a playful grin spreading across his face.
From that moment on, Gerard affectionately referred to himself as "Mum" and to Frank as "Daddy" whenever he interacted with Frankie.
Frank's footsteps echoed through the basement as he descended the stairs and he observed Gerard interacting with Frankie. His eyes lingered on the scene before him, taking in the sight of Gerard's genuine smile and the playful banter between him and the lizard.
"Having fun with your new buddy, huh?" Frank's voice cut through the air and Gerard looked up, momentarily surprised by Frank's presence, but quickly composed himself. "Yeah, Frankie here keeps me company," he replied as he glanced back at the lizard and Frank nodded, his gaze shifting between Gerard and Frankie before finally settling on Gerard.
"Good. As long as you're behaving," he said and Gerard nodded in understanding. Frank approached Gerard and extended his arms. "Come here," he said softly and Gerard hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to expect, but ultimately stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Frank.
He could feel Frank's tension melt away slightly as they stood there and after a moment, Frank pulled back slightly and looked Gerard in the eyes. "You're free, Gerard," he said. "I don't want to keep you locked up anymore." Gerard's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected declaration.
He had prepared himself for punishment or further confinement, but Frank's words caught him off guard. "Daddy..." he said. "Are you serious?" Frank nodded. "I am," he replied simply and Gerard scooped up Frankie, cradling the lizard gently in his arms.
"Come on, Frankie," he said. "Let me show you around." Frank watched silently as Gerard led Frankie out of the basement and he followed them at a distance, his footsteps echoing softly on the polished floors of their home.
