Drip. Drip. Drip.
Astrophel watched the raindrops fall from the top of their cave only to splash onto the stone ground. She inhaled the potent fragrance of the damp atmosphere, readjusting her weary limbs. It was pouring outside, the sun hiding behind dark gray clouds and shielding its golden glow away from Earth and all its inhabitants. Whether this tempest was caused by Ghidorah or natural weather didn't matter all that much to her.
At the moment, she could only think about her sleepless night, the previous night, and the night before that, ever since that first evening a week ago. Her tails curled up closer to her body. It was easily acknowledged in her mind why this was happening; Astrophel just didn't know how to stop it.
The eldest had plunged so deep into thought that didn't notice it when her second-to-youngest sister approached her and sat beside her. Nor did she detect the slight flash of concern that crossed the other's lavender hues as they lowered down to her.
"Long night again?" the middle spoke, Astrophel shook her head, snapping out of her daze.
Hestia didn't look at her, joining her in looking outside at the gloomy weather "Sure. I'm betting it wouldn't have something to do with a little voice in your head?"
"No, not at all"
Now they both knew she was lying, but for some odd reason, Hestia didn't say anything about it.
"Well, it was talking to me last night and her"
They both looked over their shoulder at the youngest sister, who shyly joined them, leaning against Astrophel in a small attempt to comfort her.
Hestia gave Astrophel a small nuzzle to the neck "So what are we going to do?" she asked as she drew away again.
"I don't know, I, none of us were prepared for this. It was supposed to be a quick job and now.." she sighed, ears perking as their human shifted from their sleep "We'll discuss this later" and just like that, the conversation was ended.
__________
It was around noon when Ghidorah arrived, Ni being the first to purposely shake the water off his scales in Hestia's direction. In response, she hissed and backed away.
"Ni!" she growled, no true malice in her action but plenty of annoyance.
"Whine all you want, there's going to be a shit ton more when we go outside"
"Is that wise? I do not doubt that you can handle it Ghidorah, but wouldn't you prefer to wait the storm out?" Astrophel asked, directing the question more at Ichi than the other two.
"We still have our duties as the alpha. A storm isn't going to harm us" Ichi dismissed, seeing no reason why they shouldn't have already been out.
"Well, I'm not going out there. If you haven't noticed, I'm fire, I don't fly well in the rain" Hestia stated
"It's fucking water"
She winced at Ni's response in irritation, but that faded as her voice took a more teasing tone "So you're going to carry me then Ni? All over for the whole flight?" Hestia smirked, reveling in his grimace.
"Hell no"
"Then I guess I'm not going"
Ichi watched boredly at the two going back and forth, turning to the more reasonable of the two older sisters "Astrophel, Nadira, come" he told them, already flying out the cave with his brothers once more before anyone could object.
