It had been a week since Iker has dared to leave the tunnel, but today was his turn to leave, he wouldn't be alone though. Iker had begged Ajar to come with him, not telling the eldest the reason behind it, just saying that he was scared to be alone. Sure, that statement had cost him a major amount of teasing from his siblings, Alex especially. Xiola tried to not do it in front of Iker, but what did they expect? it was a small home and wasn't exactly soundproof. he heard everything if he wanted to or not.

"Ok, ready to go Burn?" Ajar asked, holding the soap and sponge.

Iker gulped and nodded quietly, trying not to sweat, despite how much his body wanted to. the two began to walk down the long dimly lit tunnel, trying to be as quiet as possible. While Ajar was mainly listening for the stream, Iker was keeping his ears open for the static

After about a half-hour, the sound of static hit the ears of Iker's first then Ajar's.

"What was that?" Ajar murmured, wondering if he and Iker should head back to the burrow.

"Well, it's something that I had heard the last time I came by here, we should wash the bucket, bring it back and then come back here to investigate" Iker advised

Ajar raised an eyebrow "You have a lot of explaining to do after this Burn" he passed the burrow where the static was coming from and went straight to the stream.

There they cleaned the bucket, covering their noses just so that they didn't puke, the smell was that wretched and foul

"When we investigate the burrow, we better not run into any kaiju eggs or leaks" Ajar instructed as they stepped out the stream and onto the dry ground.

Iker shuddered at the thought of finding Kaiju eggs, knowing how slimy and big they were.

Ajar was the one to lead the way back home, being careful to be quiet because every noise would echo around the tunnels. Neither of them talked on the way back mainly since it was already nearly morning.

Lucky for them, the twins were still in a deep sleep when they arrived. Iker waited at the entrance as Ajar quickly yet quietly put everything back in its original place professionally. This process always reminded Iker how fast Ajar could be when in a rush, which was pretty fast if you asked him.

"Ready to explore some creepy home Burn? " Ajar questioned as Iker nodded.

They both then began to head back down that same tunnel, to the burrow where they would find a major discovery that would change their lives, for the better or worse

Iker groaned as he led his older cousin down the brightening tunnel that was filled with a small humming sound that both of them, Iker especially came to recognize as the static which was still a few yards away. The redhead wondered why he had heard the static and how it started in the first place. none of the other residents in his home had mentioned the strange sound, but then again, he was the most observant of the four. Maybe it was just meant to be heard by him? No. It had to be a coincidence, but everyone visited that stream, so someone must've heard it after he had left? But wouldn't be on the radio if they did?

"Hey Burn, look" Ajar whispered, nudging his shoulder which made him look up and gasp.

Two things surprised him. One was the dead body in an old, withered rocking chair which almost made him barf the second time that day. The other thing was a small device with two antennae and a smaller black switch that begged to be messed with.
